Ok, so, I’ve been working on my junk for a couple of months now to get it ready for my grandson to do the Rubicon in a month. My current issue is when I adjust the slotted bar connecting the shifter to the trans, either I can put it In Park and cant shift it in low, or, I can shift to low but...
I have been working on the hoopty for weeks now. New pads, rear drum ebrake shoes, cable, Brakes work now (but have to be pushed real hard). So now on to the locker. Years ago I rigged a DIY air locker in the rear
and it has been trouble free ever since. But, now the front is non-op. I have...
I have replaced master cylinder on my ‘92. I bled it on the bench but some fluid leaked out when connecting the lines. It never went dry. I’ve been thru 4 quarts of fluid bleeding all four wheels. Fluid comes out clean with no bubbles. But, my pedal still slowly goes to floor when breaking...
Baldilocks, post pics of your rolled 80 and ask the forum for sugestions. In 2012 we bought a pristine 1992 fj80 with elocker axles. The next weekend we cut 24 inches out of the roof and moved the rear forward. Then converted the rear into a truck and put 315's on it. Then did the Rubicon a few...
Broke the fj80 steering box sector shaft and would like a stronger one. Is there any simple replacement ( some mounting fabrication is expected ofcourse) Maybe a 2500 truck ? any body done it? Thanx, Larry
Has anyone removed their rockers on their fj80 modified rig to narrow up the width between rock sliders? I have mangled the TG sliders and need to fab new sliders and would like to pull them in tight. any pics of fj80 modified sliders would be appreciated. Thanx, Larry
My wife and I did Barrett Lake Trail yesterday and the 80 fit with no problems through the entry gate (I had to remove the Mud Flaps which stick out a few inches). We have 40's and 1.5 inch spacers. It is a challenging trail and I reccomend it to anyone looking for a tough trail.
Complete doors, rear hatch, tailgate and set of stock front and rear ring and pinion all in excellent condition. Make offer for any parts. Complete doors maybe $25.00? Tailgate $50.00? Hatch with good glass $40? Ring and pinion $50.00 for both front and rear? Stock flares $40? Side rear windows...
My caster bushings fell apart and it was just plain dangerous to drive on the road. Although this is our off road rig, we don't have a trailer so we drive 20 to 40 miles to trails. I had a machine shop press in new bushings in the front arms ($80). Then welded the washers in the front of the...
