I'm in need of original front seats for my '70 FJ40. Seat doesn't have to be perfect, but I'd prefer something that does't need to be immediately re-upholstered. If you like cash, I can do. If you're the barter type, I have a lift gate style hard top (needs rain gutter) or a carburetor off an 81...
Kwik Wire harness for sale. Similar to Painless. All wires are marked as to their purpose. Bought this for my FJ40 from JT Outfitters. Would work fine if I wanted to domesticate my truck with GM parts. My truck however is staying mostly stock. Therefor I'm going to hit up Coolerman instead for a...
I have a lift gate style hardtop off my '70. It's complete minus the rain gutter. I was about to post it up in hopes to trade it for some stock '70 style seats. I went back to OEM soft top years ago and I prefer it that way. Now I want to take the interior back to OEM
It's working again!
Had the fuel rail open on one end after pulling the fuel pressure gauge off three days ago. Decided to pull the fuel pressure regulator (to open the other end of the fuel rail) before hooking the back side back up. Used air to blow out the gas so I could pour in Seafoam...
Thanks Roger,
Went through a bad MAF and air intake hose back in '06. Replaced both then. Some similarities between then and now. Pulled the hose and no obvious cracks. Still flexible like new so I don't suspect dry rot. Also back in '06 I replaced all the smaller vacuum hoses (at least the...
Pulled the fuel pump to see what the fuel looked like. It was clear and clean as was the pump filter. I did however notice where a wire apparently grounded itself in the tank. No idea if it's related or not but it can't be good!
Kinda long
A couple of months ago I pulled the starter disconnecting the negative battery. Store had wrong starter so I put the old one(hesitant but would turn over) back on. Hooked up battery and the problems began. Though the engine light was already on she was running fine until now. At this...
My 3 spd works just fine. then again I'm a nazi. As was before stated the final drive for each tranny is the same 1:1 ratio. Therefore highway rpms will be the same. The 4 spd however has a lower first gear and as stated earlier it's synchronized. Two big pluses. 2nd and 3rd on the three speed...
Agreed on adjusting.
Adjust each wheel until the shoes drag a little.
Back the truck down the drive and forward again while lightly applying the brakes. This will help center the shoes.
Lift the truck and spin the wheels. You should notice the shoes no longer drag.
Start the adjusting...
