If I remember correctly you cant access the flexplate ring gear from the bottom with the 2uz AT (like you can on many other trannys which have a lower cover over the ring gear/ torque convertor)
I hit my crankbolt as hard as my strongest IR impact gun would hit it to get it tight...
Holy schnikees! my originals are riding better by the day the more I hear about this... haha
I also have the salt corrosion probs on this 98' also. Sawzall may work also, or maybe a cutoff wheel on a die grinder. Thanks for the help guys. To think, I thought mounting a starter under an intake...
Thanks- One more question
Do you do the pipe wrench deal with the lower bolt removed and the shock in the compressed position? Im assuming that you crush the dust shield against the main shock body with the pipe wrench and turn it that way. Am I correct?
Thanks!
These upper rear shock nuts are really driving me bonkers. I havent tried a long pipe wrench with a cheater bar around the shock to get the old ones off. May try tomorrow. Dont have a chain wrench and have to borrow a pipe wrench.
I was wondering if anyone has ever used a nut splitter to...
Thought I had a bad Throttle position sensor, so being the parts swapper/ non diagnostician I am I replaced it and it turned out not to be the problem.

Thanks guys for the info- I plan to run the LTX MS year round; my 98' 100 is a 98% family truckster, ~2% off road beast for the forseeable future. My goal is in 2009 to get my wife a Sienna, which is what she wants, and I'm Toyota to the core, so I have to go Sienna, then turn my...
Thanks

Bad thing is now I can hear other things which...

Has anyone else...
Sorry I never closed the loop on this one- turned out to be the accelerator pedal sensor NG. Replaced it and am good to go- I tried the TPS first with no sucess
Been running great since!
Anyone add rear seat video to a 98? If anyone has any suggestions I'd greatly appreciate it. Im planning to add RSV to my 98, and have been told that the 98 does not have any bracketry for mounting the standard Toyota system.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated!
Just got done with the timing belt on my 98- Did the water pump also. Overall it wasn't that bad of a job, just took a while. Filled it with water initially when I put it back together to flush it out. Now Im ready to put coolant back in it. Does anyone know how much coolant is needed to make...
Anyone done headliner mounted rear seat video in a 98? I hear there are no brackets behind the headliner to mount to. Looking for advice- Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Mikeacs- Question on 05 Camry Nav install
Like the NAV install job- looks really sharp. I'd like to do one of these myself in my 98' . Was it difficult to do? Did you need adapter harnesses? Where did you place the navi unit? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks
