    Vintage Teq

Received a delivery from VintageTeqParts today. I was so impressed by the packaging I had post about it. The lengths went to secure the contents was incredible - tripled pouched and then wrapped in copious amounts of bubble wrap. Suffice to note, the parts arrived as promised and in perfect...

Q regarding 65 rocker arm shafts

Got a 65 F engine. Doing head work and the rocker shafts are worn beyond what engine shop assess viable. What year rocker shafts are compatible with a 65? What I understand is 66 and older Fs are compatible. Appreciate the help.

Wanted  Rocker shafts, 2 piece type

Looking for in good shape rocker shafts for a 65 F. My understanding is that shafts 67 and newer are not backward compatiable, so 66 and older would be what is needed. If I'm wrong, let me know. Cheers.

New member with questions 96 T100

If you have the 60/40 bench seat ... nope. No bucket seat will readily bolt up. Requires some modding of the seat to adapt it to ALL of the existing bolt locations of the T100. Many have done it, tho.

    Knuckle Centering Gauge

I should add that I have keep in order the shims, l-r, top to bottom that, as far as I know, is as it left the factory. I doubt my uncle ever tore it down, and the shims look old as heck. Do I need to be concerned with centering the knuckles if I re-install the shims (with new ones) as I...

    Paying too much for 1st T100 4x4?

Sold my 96 T100 X-cab this summer with bench seat, original owner w/ 240K on the clock. Always maintained but showing the punishment I gave it (dented body panel, torn upholstery, faded paint). And man, I beat the crap out of that thing off-roading, towing, etc. Sold it in 24 hours for $3K...

“Buddy,” my FJ45lpb, the backstory, trip, getting the rig going

A post of silence for a divorce of sorts ... my purchased new 1996 T100 that I sold a few months ago (June 2018) with 250K on the odo and still running like a top. Toyota replaced the head gaskets at 16K as part of a recall, even though I had no issues (yet) with the heads. Otherwise, it was...

“Buddy,” my FJ45lpb, the backstory, trip, getting the rig going

Top coat complete, after I addressed the many places I missed. :bang: Won't be quitting my day job. So ... would I do it this way again? No way. I would powder coat it. Rust Bullet isn't the cheapest paint and I spent hours with a paint brush for a result I give myself a grade of C...

“Buddy,” my FJ45lpb, the backstory, trip, getting the rig going

Next up ... applying paint to the external frame. Looked at a few options, settled on Rust Bullet, using a silver base coat and black top (shell) coat. Silver base coat is designed to work on rust, for which I had a bit of flash rust, as the first pic below readily shows. If you like...
