    Broken Toyota Motor Mounts

not sure about welding to High strength steel(all newer Toyota frames), its not like mild steel, were when it cools does not loose any of its strength, HSS will get brittle, thats why when the the frame bends on these things, they are replaced...but I could be wrong, thats what the auto body...

Temp gauge starts at "normal range" when cold

OK so my temp gauge when the vehicle is off is all the way to the right or "H". When I start the vehicle after its been sitting for a few days, the needle only advances to the "normal operation range" ie in-between the two hashes. As soon as its warm, its reading hot.... thermo scanned engine...

    What dash switch/control is this?

I have new to me a 1969 FJ40, its all original for the most part, all of my dash controls are original as fas as I can tell. There is a switch with a "T" that is just above the ash tray. It's attached to a cable that runs through the fire wall and is coiled up not in use. The cable is the same...

battery being drained, popping under hood?

ok, so I think I found my problem, but a question...its a 20 amp circit braker(toyota part), the batt side connects to post on alt, and the accersory side runs to the back of the truck and was grounding on frame...it hooks to nothing..or does it? for now I just removed it. here is the pic

battery being drained, popping under hood?

Hi guys, just picked up a new 40, (1969) the battery drains in a day... I replaced with red top optima, replaced cables, checked grounds, vehicle charges, runs when battery is disconnected, but when I connected the battery it sparks and I hear a pop/click in the driver side fender. It looks to...

thanks for the info, from my research, this is a SFA(solid front axle) hub and not and IFS hub correct? But it looks like I have the latter vented rotors and break set up... either stock or FJ 60 I assuming.

Have you seen this wheel spacer set up?

purchased an 87 runner with a SAS, since i'm pretty new to Toyota's, I was getting to know my truck, pulling stuff apart, inspecting etc. The space measures 3/4 of an inch. It was my understanding that I needed 1.5 inch on each side to be even with the later/IFS rear end. The axles look dead on...

    Lunch box for non-locking FJ

Found out the 07-09 FJ cruiser rear diff is no different then the standard 8" V6 diff used in the mini trucks. So all Detroit's, lunch box's, spools will work. I'm not sure why vendors don't list them, maybe its a way to charge more for ARB's, or most likely it's the unknown. I know in 2010 the...

    Lunch box for non-locking FJ

question, I know the lunch box lockers are not ideal, but I have one for a toy 8 inch diff from a v6 runner, will it drop in? better yet could I just drop the entire diff in, assuming my ratios match.... I'm just saving for a Currie rear end, but would like some traction in the meantime
