I had something similar a while back. It was riding on the bump stops (no suspension travel). Once I cranked the TB a bit it fixed the issue for me. If you have the stock LX torsion bars you should be replacing those for sure.
Following up on this, would it be a bad idea to run aftermarket springs in the rear and OEM torsion bars in the front? I have dobinsons UCA and they require a min 1.5-inch lift to get proper alignment. The only reason I'm asking is that I'm apprehensive about putting spacers in the rear with OEM...
I've seen that. However, I'm asking specifically about the redesigned models. I've read that a lot of people have had positive experiences with these but this shop is saying the opposite.
Hey Everyone,
I just talked to a local shop who is both a Dobinsons and SPC dealer. I was pretty set on putting SPC UCAs on my LX470 but the shop told me that most of their clients have had their SPC UCAs fail after 1 year (This is with the most up to date SPC UCAs). Any experience with this...
I'm actually doing an AHC delete so I have the opportunity to choose what new torsion bars/springs I put in. Are you still recommending that I put in OEM torsion bars/springs? or given the opportunity should I go with an aftermarket option? I'll be running unloaded most of the time and I'm...
Hello!
Are there any significant downsides to using new OEM shocks with aftermarket torsion bars/springs for a 2" lift? Will these shocks function properly with that amount of lift or will aftermarket shocks be a lot better?
Also, any recommendations on Dobinsons torsion bar + springs vs OME...
I'm looking to rip out the AHC and get OEM 100-series components in. Any recommendations on shops in the Vancouver (or Lower Mainland) area that would be best for this?
Thanks in advance!
These are getting pretty close in price to Kings. Any thoughts on going with one vs the other? (Apart from the level of adjustability with the extra dials on the dobinsons)
I don't think that the shop would've disconnected the battery as they were just filling cracks in the windshield and not actually removing it. It took about another 100 KM or more of driving to get the fuel economy back down - which is the only reason I was concerned. If it was just idling for a...
Hey Everyone!
This has been bothering me for a while so wanted to get it off my chest and see what you guys think. Maybe a month ago I got a check engine on for P0446 which is an evap issue. I took it to the dealership and they let me know I need a new fuel canister. The check engine light is...
@Jerzywerzy5 not results but I was told by a shop (While they were doing my brakes) that I should be replacing the Lcas and sway bars due to rust. This alongside the fact that when I took a look at the AHC lines and found them rusty - guided me towards the decision to rip the AHC out. I figured...
I'm also looking to replace the lower control arms and sway bar. Would OEM be sufficient for the lower control arms and Tailor Trailer for the sway bar?
Thanks!
Hey Everyone!
I have a 03 LX470 and I've finally made the decision to take out my AHC and switch to a more standard suspension. The main reason was rust.
After doing some research, I'm leaning towards getting Kings: 25001-259 / 25001-258 King Shocks for Toyota Land Cruiser 100 and Lexus LX470...
