    P0401 Defeated - with pics

Flank you are my hero! Love your quotes and your advise on how to get rid of that fricken P0401 Code! This is no doubt my problem too. . . I think the tell-tail here is that fricken pinging at the point where you are just giving it enough gas to keep at speed. That has driven me nut for way...

Thanks ToolsRUs. I don't believe the m-oil is going to steering. I'll enquire for the kit at Toyota. Thanks folks!

Power Steering to Motor Oil LOSS

I was told that the power steering was gear driven and that could be the reason for the engine oil loss. Considering I'm driving the Exxon Valdez and my friends call me Capt. Hazelwood I can't identify where the oil is coming from. My bain with used vehicles has always been oil leaks and A/C...

Power Steering to Motor Oil LOSS

Riddle me this Bruiser Fans!?! My 1996 LC was needing me to add power steering fluid for a short period of time (about two quarts worth) then, all of a sudden stopped needing it and now that it has stopped I am needing to add about a quart of motor oil every half a tank of fuel. Could these...

    Just Curious

Its time to check for water in the oil and make sure every ground lead has a good connection. If you don't have a check engine light you don't have a problem. The price is also prime to buy another now too. Probably $7K (US) and you have another at your door...! What a quandary....

    Cruise disengages

Hello Folks..! Looking for some input on this subject. I have review past threads and none really describe my situation. I believe I have determined what might be my problem but, looking for the Knights of the Round Table (on this forum) for their opinions on my deduction. The problem is...

    80 Whistles... why?!

Thanks Murf -- I guess I should have conducted the search first. I'll go there now. Oddly enough it has always felt like it was normal. Thanks again...!

    80 Whistles... why?!

Can anyone give me an idea why my 80 has always whistled through the exhaust under medium throttle or greater? (I have already inspected the catylitic convertors. I saw unobstructed light through both of them.)

    Sun Visor Needed

Hello Fellow Floridian (O-town, here). Give Steve a call at 800-248-9273. He has a 1996, 80 rollover in his yard and I'm sure he will still have the visor... Although, he'll probably gig you for both visors. Hope it helps. Now can anyone help me with a decent back LC badge? (upper...

    Front End Rumble

Greetings and welcome home....! THANKS! Just checking here. I recently had much the same dilemma after conducting a bearing change out. My end result was that the 1st locknut wasn't at the specified torque. 96 LC called for (I think?) preload to be 43 foot pounds then, back-off finger...

    power windows/locks

I am sure this is a very frustrating situation. It kind of sounds as if it may be ground related. Any ground straps missing (from engine removal) or rust (maybe?). That's my best guess. Someone needed to address your Thread. Hyatus :bounce2:

    Drive the Transmission....?1

Thanks 88! I have heard not to fear the strength of this Transmission. I'm with you Miescha. Always putting brakes on. Now, should I only reserve the 2nd gear start button for only 4WD Low or can that feature be used on surface streets as well?

    Drive the Transmission....?1

I need some input to a burning question about my 96 LC. Toyota gives you all these buttons for the Tranny. The owners manual tells you to motor brake. However, I just can't get over my fear of working the shifter and buttons because of past experiences with Japanes Automatic Transmissions...
