No extra baseplate was needed. I just bolted the box directly to the frame. There’s enough height clearance for the drawers to come out even with just 1/2” plywood.
I have a 2005 Lexus GX470 and I’m ideally looking for a trade for a 1st Gen Tundra 4x4, long bed.
I love this rig and it’s treated me amazingly well. Took me forever to find a black one with gray interior (why do all the black ones have a tan interior?!) that was also taken really could care...
Yup I wrote out instructions here and labeled the wires. Not sure exactly about wattage though.

I did draw up some blueprints but I don’t know what I did with them, and honestly I ended up slightly adjusting things as I went. In the 4th or 5th post on this thread though I believe I said a lot of the final dimensions.
Thanks! It’s for sure well over 6’3” with the seats pushed forward. I leave my driver seat all the way back with the bed platform setup and my total platform length is 6’ 1/2”. In addition, I could’ve made my drawer box longer by 1-2” as well but I left room for my fold down table on the rear door.
I mean I tried it… didn’t notice a difference in the output. The Gx has projector lights not reflector so there really shouldn’t be a decrease. BX Built sells custom lights doing the same method I’m pretty sure.
I haven’t noticed any issues at all, though in reality the majority of the times I’m only opening the drawers about 50% or less. The only time I really notice any friction there is if I’m opening the drawers really far open and then it can be countered by slightly lifting the drawer as you pull...
Here’s a photo of where I put them. I then used a countersink drill bit and screwed them down so the screws didn’t stick above the plastic surface. Glue won’t work on it. I got a sheet from a local plastic supplier and then cut it into strips.
The overall box is 41.75” wide x 36” deep x 12.2” tall. If using 1/2” ply, then the up rights would be about 35.5” x 11.2” (taking into account the back support piece and the top and bottom piece). Numbers are approx though as 1/2” plywood isn’t exactly 1/2”. The exact drawer dimensions really...
Yeah, those photos above are with the ML amp in front of it. It sticks out a bit but not too bad if you drive with your seat all the way back like I do. You could of course mount it elsewhere but for sake of easy wiring to the amp that’s where I chose.
Here’s some photos of the Kicker 46HS10 mounted under the drivers seat. First photo is with the seat all the forward during install, second is with it all the way back and how I drive. It’s a pretty good fit. Sticks out slightly farther than I’d like, but it’s not too bad. I do drive with my...
I just added a 10” powered Kicker Subwoofer to my 2005 GX470 and it was extremely easy to do. Can’t believe I didn’t do it earlier. I always thought the ML system was too hard to make any modifications or add a sub, but turns out it is very simple. Highly recommended for anyone looking for more...
Hey guys,
I'm adding a small powered subwoofer (Kicker 46HS10) to my 2005 GX470 Mark Levinson Navigation system and could use some help regarding which wires to tap. I've searched everywhere and can't seem to find a definite wiring diagram for the ML amp. The colors on the wiring diagrams i've...
