I ordered all oem stuff. I figure the original stuff lasted nearly 150k miles so it’s worth it. Ordered it all from bell Lexus and saved a good chunk compared to buying from the Toyota dealer.
I’ll be replacing my rear brake pads, rotors, and parking brake shoes later this month so I’m looking for advice on tools and techniques to make it easier for someone who hasn’t done this in close to 20 years and the last time I messed with brake shoes was on a 62 Chevy pickup. I’ll be picking...
It’s not the 20 ton press I need to do the axle bearings, but I got these today. Best part is I came out way ahead on my side of the trade and they'll definitely come in handy.
Well, when it rains it pours. I believe this is the source of the leak I had previously and it just took forever to show back up. Thoughts on Dorman hubs with koyo bearings?
Someone spilled roofing nails on a street here. Had nails in all 4 tires of the Tahoe. There were 6 other people at discount tire getting their fixed too.
Well it’s already been ordered and it was cheap enough that if it’s not the problem it won’t be a big deal. I was already planning to order a couple hub assemblies from one of the vendors anyway for spares so I’ll just have to do it sooner.
Don’t you put that bad juju on me Washingtontaco lol. Didn’t feel like dropping another $300 just yet, but if the wire doesn’t fix it a new hub assembly is next.
Cleaned up everything underneath to try and pinpoint where the unknown fluid was coming from and now everything is dry and I haven’t seen anything leak since. I’m guessing the magnesium chloride that was in the dirt was pulling moisture from the air and the fact that I tried washing some of it...
Got the code read at auto zone and it said it was the front passenger abs wheel sensor. Crawled under it and it’s plugged in so I’m guessing the buildup of dirt and stuff over the years has gotten underneath it and broke it inside the spindle. $315 if I get a 4Runner sensor after driving to...
Washed the undercarriage last Monday trying to figure out the leak, but no rain lately. From doing some digging it looks like it may be an abs line/wire that was stretched. Did find a little bit of fluid on the rear brake shield so maybe it got inside of one of the connections and is causing issues.
My buddy has a set on his 4Runner that he does a lot of crazy stuff in and he loves them. I almost got a set of the 34x10.5s but went with the rt trails in 285/70
Trying to track down leakage from something underneath. Stopped for food at about 3am in San Antonio and the entire rear half of the car was covered in fluid. Just washed everything underneath and waiting to see what it looks like after it dries.
