    EGR Temp Sensor Test Plug

I shotgun’d my EGR CEL woes by replacing the EGR valve, modulator, vsv and vacuum tubes. The problem continued. I did not attack the TB and ports others have suggested. Maybe I should have. Finally got a temp sensor salvaged from a supposedly functioning EGR system. That changed the near...

    EGR Temp Sensor Test Plug

I have a ‘94. Have replaced all EGR components with new OEM except a used sensor off a functioning engine. Still getting error codes for EGR! I live in Ca but in a county not requiring smog checks. Can I simply use your bypass plug and not block the vacuum tubes? I do not think I care about EGR...

Fitment of Pioneer TS-G series speakers behind OEM grills

Sorry, seems I butted in. It sounds like you want to surface mount on the door panel. I took my door panel off and mounted the speaker to the door frame like the stock speaker.

Fitment of Pioneer TS-G series speakers behind OEM grills

I used the 1645’s. As the front door OEM speaker grills are attached to the door panel, I left them intact with no fitment issues over the new 1645’s

    Rear Defogger

My ‘94’s hatch defogger has been essentially non-functional for a decade. I,too, only had a whisp of defog on one or two middle rows. I decided to get into it. I read the FSM pages, got out my ohm meter and found that I had 14v current at the connector tabs. I had a completely open circuit, no...

    back door speakers

Just finished front and back door speaker replacement on my ‘94 FZJ80. Front door holes are very shallow per window track behind it, ergo the funny pancake OEM’ s. I found as others have that Pioneer TS-G1645 6.5“ speakers work fine without any door frame or panel modification. Just break off...

Fitment of Pioneer TS-G series speakers behind OEM grills

Just finished my f/r door speaker replacement on my ‘94 fzj80. Appreciate all previous posts. They made this easy. I used Pioneer TS-G1645R on front both of which had no remaining cone and were completely dead for years. Trimmed off four mounting ears allowing flush fit to door frame and used...

    Builds DannyBCruzin in an FZJ80

Now I am a bit confused. So, 80 series Al is not referring to a 94 model? The section of dash surrounding the stereo does extend in a narrow strip across top of steering column to end at driver’s door. Is there something more I should know?

Need to replace the stereo head unit on my 94 fzj80. What make head unit did you use. Is the dash difficult to get behind? Saw a YouTube for a 96 head unit swap but that dash is a bit different. Any advice or tricks.

    Builds DannyBCruzin in an FZJ80

I’m a new to the forum. I need to replace my stereo head unit in my 94 fzj80. What make did you choose? Being new to DYI car repair, is getting that section of the dash loose difficult? I viewed a YouTube video from Texasknowhow of the procedure but that was on a 96 and the dash is a bit...

    Old guy with old cruiser

Just joined the forum but bought my FJ 80 new in 1994. Have been in love with it since. I’m retired but not ready to retire my cruiser. Only 300k miles, runs great but starting to show its age. Just had Gary at Mudrak in Sonoma do a tune up and safety check. Hopefully ready to go for the rest of...
