    For Sale  1989 FJ62 with 4spd swap

I've owned this FJ62 since 1998 and added the following since 1998: OME medium lift with rancho shocks, ARB front bumper with Warn M12000 winch and hella lights, Kaymar rear bumper, Mean Green alternator and starter, hella headlight wiring harness, and the best thing; swapping in a 1987 4spd...

Need help...part # for a transfer case seal

The local Toyota shop can't seem to help me...Does anyone know what the part # is for the transfer case shifter seal on a 1987 fj60? The rubber boot is ok, I just need the seal that is behind the boot. Mine keeps popping out when I shift into 4wd. Thanks!

Exactly the same, no matter what all of these know-it-alls try to tell you.

    alternator

Go with the mean green...easier than adding a second battery. They do cost a bit, but you won't be changing your alternator all the time. I'm running H-4 headlights and hella driving lights without any issue, even at idle.

REAL-TIME HELP: removal of spare tire chain hoist.

I removed that whole crossmember that it is attached to and worked on it on my bench instead of having the pb blaster dripping on my head from above me. Your truck won't fall apart with that crossmember out...I had mine out for weeks without any issues. I didn't do any off-roading in that time...

    foot rest?

I swapped in a 4 speed into my 62 and kept the dead pedal...it is kind of close, but have never hit it, even with mud covered boots on. Wouldn't like it if it weren't in there!

    heavy duty drawer slides????

Try Rockler.com. Another woodworking site. Seems to have a much better selection of slides and longer ones as well. I've purchased slides from them before.

    Mean green really worth it?

After becoming a pro at replacing the OEM (rebuilt crap), I put a Mean Green in and haven't had a problem since. I have the H4 headlight upgrade and it made a huge difference in just the headlight output! After buying 4 OEM alternators in under 3 years, the Mean Green would have paid for...

sticky situation - removing tape residue from tint ?

Window cleaning solution I own a window washing company...use this formula I use for washing windows...some dishwashing liquid, water and the biggy here...ammonia. For the small amount you need, a couple cups of water, a couple squirts of the soap and maybe a quarter cup of ammonia will do. The...

    new 5 speed

No, not true...You need the drive shafts from a 60 as well as the transmission crossmember. You will also need to either move the mounts for the crossmember and re-weld them in the correct position for the new tranny placement or weld on new mounts since removing the existing ones from your...
