anyone know of anywhere i can get a high output alternator for the 3fe engine. MAF sells one, but its for the 2fe. was hoping to run some lights, and a winch, but the 200 amp one is only for the 2fe, could it be installed on the 3fe. id imagine it could, but anyone done it before?

You can add a second battery and do that with no problem with the factory alt. Otherwise mean green I believe makes a one that will fit for $$$

I have a mean green on my 89 fj62...they are pricey, but it's amazing and haven't had to change my alternator every 6 months like with rebuilds. Shows a charge even at idle with headlights and wiper running

Go with the mean green...easier than adding a second battery. They do cost a bit, but you won't be changing your alternator all the time. I'm running H-4 headlights and hella driving lights without any issue, even at idle.

If you can handle fabbing the brackets, I'd go with a Leece Neville. I've run one for years and it's as heavy duty as your going to get. And quit a bit cheaper than a green thing.
