Baffled: 3fe with quick build up on plugs... from what?

Disconnect the throttle body coolant lines, loop them together and throw a new set of plugs in. It's getting to all 6 cylinders and it's not oil

Who has built the snot out of a 3FE

Stock radiator and running normal temps, never saw any increase in engine temp. I do live in a cool climate though. My first iteration was without an intercooler and under hood temps and IAT's got pretty high so I added the intercooler and that really brought it back down. I'd say if you're...

Who has built the snot out of a 3FE

3 years ago and it's doing great, but sorry I never made a build thread. I run 6 lbs of boost, intercooled, a boost reference FPR, and a Split Second 02 sensor enricher. I've had plans to go to Megasquirt but never followed through, it's just running so good I never felt the need. Performance is...

    BillyGoat - pretty much mine…

For the bog, check if the egr valve is stuck open. My 62 had a horrible bog when I got it and I found the egr valve stuck wide open. I desmogged mine and it ran great after that.

    Yodateq Antenna mount

Looks good. Are you going to program the repeaters along your route into your radio before you leave? I've got a FT 2900 in my 62 but was recently given an ft 897 and might install that and an HF antenna and mabe do some POTA activations. 73's de kd8voa

Anyone running Megasquirt on a 3FE? I've turbo-ed my 1988 62 and looking to go stand a lone

I have an Innovate wideband gauge and it's showing lean in open loop, elsewhere too, but I don't think it's right because it's showing 16-17:1 afr and if I was actually running that lean it'd be pinging like a can full of marbles, and it's not knocking at all and running really well. I just...

Anyone running Megasquirt on a 3FE? I've turbo-ed my 1988 62 and looking to go stand a lone

I'm normally in the 60 series section but there's no one running a turbo or megasquirt so I'm wondering if any of you guys are. A year and a half ago I built a turbo system for the 3fe in my 62. I've put several thousand miles on it and it's been great. For fueling I've tried a rising rate...

What did you do with your 60 this weekend?

    Yes they are

What did you do with your 60 this weekend?

Longest winter ever I swear, and to make matters worse May 1 - 2 we got another 30" of snow. Fortunately it melted quick. Anyways, I finally got my cruiser out a couple days ago. First thing was to change out the piece of crap EMUSA wastegate( had holes in the diaphragm) for a high quality Tial...

Clunk and drop in Brake pedal

There's been a couple times in at my shop where I've seen rear brake shoes ride up on a ridge in the drum, then when brakes are applied the shoes drop off the ridge and cause the pedal to drop. Not very common but I have seen it happen

    Rust Converters?

I do a fair amount of restoration type work and I've used a lot of Corroseal over the years with good results. I prefer the milky white type of rust converters. Permatex rust treatment is pretty good and you can buy it at Napa. Not a fan of POR 15, it does work but only in the right...

    Diagnostics box melted?

Wipe it down a little, I bet it's not melted. Every obd 1 diag port I've ever seen was caked full of dielectric compound like that

What did you do with your 60 this weekend?

Snow's here so he got put away for the winter. This off season it'll get mega or micro squirt and I may build a rear bumper

    62 Trans Cooler Lines

Highly recommend you add a transmission cooler while you're at it

    Checking 3FE fuel pressure?

I believe most are filled with glycerine, not sure of the freezing point, would have to Google that, but I'm sure it's well below that of water. My cruiser gets parked for the winter so that's not a concern for me. Good to hear that it's ok to leave it there

    Checking 3FE fuel pressure?

I just put it in recently and for now I'm leaving it in, but I'm in the process of tuning a turbo setup on my 3FE. Once I'm all done I may remove it but honestly I like being able to see fuel pressure at a glance, then again if that thing leaked it's a really bad spot to dump fuel.

    Checking 3FE fuel pressure?

This banjo bolt from LC Engineering fits the cold start injector and allows you to add a gauge or schrader valve.

    FJ62 transmission cooler

I would use both, run it into the radiator first, that'll bring it down to coolant temp then run to the external and that'll bring temps down further. This is how I run mine and it's very efficient

What did you do with your 60 this weekend?

I would love to put it on a dyno, but I live in a pretty remote area and the closest one is probably 8 hours away. I've been reading the microsquirt manual and I think this is the way I'm going to go.
