I'm normally in the 60 series section but there's no one running a turbo or megasquirt so I'm wondering if any of you guys are.

A year and a half ago I built a turbo system for the 3fe in my 62. I've put several thousand miles on it and it's been great. For fueling I've tried a rising rate FPR, a Split Second O2 sensor enricher, and now it's time to go stand alone since I'm still not happy with the fueling, so I'm looking for someone who's done it on a 3fe for a little guidance.

Some of my questions, are you running spark through MS?
Crank trigger wheel or using the distributor?
Stock injectors?
What did you use for a base tune?

This was my first version, I later added an intercooler.

is it just too lean on the top end?
And just for my curiosity, did you use one step colder plugs too?
what about stopping the distributor advance and retarded timing?

I have an Innovate wideband gauge and it's showing lean in open loop, elsewhere too, but I don't think it's right because it's showing 16-17:1 afr and if I was actually running that lean it'd be pinging like a can full of marbles, and it's not knocking at all and running really well. I just don't trust the system in place, the O2 enricher seems to have taken a dump also and won't adjust anymore. I'm tired of messing with it and I'm wanting to go stand alone one way or another. Btw I'm running 6 lbs of boost. Eta, no I didn't go colder on the plugs

I would say Megasquirt works pretty good. I've had big issues arise when they changed the firmware, my laptop updated to the latest software rev making it incompatible with the megasquirt. Took me some days and phone calls to figure that stupid sh!t out.

I first used one for the first time almost 20 years ago and they were dirt cheap and pretty much the same exact thing they sell today. It bugs me a little bit that they charge as much as they do for them today and without offering much real support. The megasquirt forums are hit and miss. Lots of never answered questions on there.

If you buy from DIYautotune they do offer customer support, but they don't like the phone and sometimes take a week to get back to you.

Once you fire it up it's pretty straightforward. It's getting to that point that can be trying.

I know the Ford EDIS ignition system plays nice with megasquirt. A friend has it on his 5.0 with EDIS and it works good.
