Yes, it'll start with 12v, but I've only done that in warmer weather.
I've started it as low as -4*F on 24v, but that's when my batteries were good - I tried it this winter when my batteries were on the way out and had a hard time at 0*F.
Direct injected glow plugs.
Yeah, I'm very hesitant to convert to 12v. Especially since I don't know that it's the 24v stuff that's causing the problems - I could see doing the conversion and still having the issue.
I haven't had time to look at it this weekend and get precious little time during the week, so a temporary...
Well, after basically starting from scratch and retesting everything, the 12/24v switchover relay didn't pass the testing, so I'm going to replace it. It came from a working system when my friend converted the 24v with 12v, but a lot of things could have happened in that time. I'll update if...
I replaced the batteries because I was having this problem, as a possible solution. One of them is only temporary, but I want going to change it until this problem is sorted.
I replaced the ignition switch a couple weeks ago.
Thanks, keep it coming, I really want to find the problem. Got a...
Oh, that might be it! My washer reservoir leaks at the pump. I was messing around with it last year and 100% sure washer fluid got everywhere in that area.
A lead! That's great! Thanks!
Edit: do you know where that connector is on the wiring diagram? If not, that's cool.
That's kinda where my mind kept going, but I couldn't go through the logic in my head, so I was exploring other ways. I have a starter sitting here on my workbench, might as well replace it if it's even remotely a possibility... If that doesn't work, I'll have other replies to fall back on and a...
Good Morning Folks! I'm having a starting issue that's driving me crazy, and maybe you fine folks with your big brains can help.
I cannot start my truck (RHD, 1HD-T) with the key. I can sometimes (50% of the time) start it by connecting a jumper wire from the LH battery (+) to the starter (via...
This is really cool. Thanks for the detailed response. How did you fasten the nut on the top left? I tdoesn't look like there's any access from the other side for a nut...
I was thinking I'd just do lap belts, but after looking at your setup, shoulder belts don't look that much harder. Was the...
The 71 never came with a rear seatbelt, but the 74 did. I'd like to know if the frame of the 71 lines up with where the rear seatbelt would be like the 74 does (and how it connects and all that jazz). Can anyone confirm that is definitely does it does not? Has anyone tried this before?
Thanks!
Just throwing this out there in the slim chance someone's got one. Ended up with the two rear shocks and a single front shock. Lead times from what I've seen are 6 weeks minimum from vendors, so maybe the stars can align and I can get one sooner.
Thanks!
