Holes in muffler = no locker

I just lost my rear locker to holes in the muffler, and the FlowMaster was an easy ~125 replacement. Thankfully the wiring fix was only another ~100. Doesn't sound as throaty though now that the exhaust is going out the back of the truck.

500 miles to a tank?? Yes!

I've only been on the high side of 400 a couple times. Only once with California gas. When I run Nevada supreme, I can sometimes eek out 430. Last time I really pushed it a few weeks back, I was a 415 and did manage to put 26 gallons in my 25.4 gallon tank. Quality of gas seems to be a...

Got into a minor accident with my truck and insurance says it’s a total loss.

I'm not sure if you've settled yet, but the lady friend's Tacoma went through a similar valuation process last year. It was in fact totaled, but the insurance company offered us $3757 and wouldn't budge. Comps were in the $10-12k range all day long. She said just sent me the cheapest Tacoma...

The every two year ritual is upon me for the first time and I don't do SMOG Checks much...most everything I own is pre 75 or registered at my vacation home in a no smog state. I know because I'm a 1999 I'm gonna get a sniffer. I know I should do an oil change first. I know I should drive the...

Capital makes a range that several of my chef friends have owned or endorsed: https://capital-cooking.com I have a Viking 60" hood with a remote extractions fan I've been very happy with. My range is an 80 year old Chambers & I have a Miele wok burner built into the adjacent cutting board...

What have you done to your 100 Series this week?

You know if you've got room to move those seats outboard a bit more, you can drop a small fridge between them. Dometic CD30 or an Alpicool 15L might both fit.

So I thought fixing the broken sway bar link would end my front suspension creak...

So I've had a squeak/creak in the front suspension for a while, and dug into it today expecting for find a broken sway bar link (which I found). I swapped out the broken sway bar link, and the squeak/creak persists. It seems most consistent on bumps (speed bumps are a guaranteed replication)...

Local Mechanic vs. Certified Mechanic $$$

I'd suggest that the untested local guy may be a good resource to teach you how to do it, as you follow along with the FSM. Get your own parts, pay him for his time, and be his nurse. Next time you can change your own. It's a 9-5er for a single instruction follower. Start at nine...
