Hey guys, a few weeks ago I noticed some smoke coming from the left/rear wheel area of my 100 series, after a short drive in town. It kind of smelled like burning grease. I visually inspected all around the area but didn't see anything that seemed out of place or any leaking fluids. Since this...
Hey all, my brake pads are wearing rather quickly since adding all this extra weight and larger tires to my 100 series. I'm curious what you guys are using for pads and rotors, OEM or is there something better?

I went with a BajaRack and the CVT Shasta. There's a basket in the front of rack that I keep MaxTrax, shovel, axe, etc. BTW, love the NV wheels, just wish they came in 16".
Thank you everyone for the help, what an amazing resource this group is for owners of these vehicles. As per the multiple recommendations, I had the front torsion bars cranked down a bit (lowering ride height and allowing more droop), rebalanced tires and realigned suspension (spec sheet below)...
Yes, this is a photo of my truck. Sorry I forgot to mention that it also has Nitro UCA's and was aligned post lift. I do not know the post lift alignment specs. The reason the spacers a wider in the front is by the recommendation of someone (can't remember who) at Nitro Gear & Axle as the "magic...
Hey group, looking for some help here. Ever since I've lifted my truck it's had some strange things happening in the front end. When I accelerate (worse at slow speeds or from a stop) the front end wanders/shimmies significantly. I can feel power alternating from one side to the other in the...
Thanks everyone for the help with this costly error. OEM CV's are going back in it now. On the bench, the OEM CV's were measured to allow 40° before binding, aftermarket only 24°. Huge difference. Hopefully no other issues after the swap...lesson learned.
Replacing "stock replacement" CV's with...
Thanks guys for the info. I'm not sure if my mechanic kept the old ones. He said they were pretty worn. Rcmay, do you have a link for the rebuilt OEM option, in case my old ones are still around?
Hey Group,
After a torn boot, I've had my OEM CV's swapped with some aftermarket "stock replacement" axles and am experiencing on throttle vibrations. My mechanic suspects that the new CV's somehow are not able to handle the angle of misalignment when on throttle weight transfer causes front...
Thank you guys for all the feedback. Based upon what I've read, my assumption is that aftermarket axles were used and that is what's causing the problem. I paid $140 each for them, which is much lower than the $500+ Jemsec has said that the OEM ones cost. The front bearings were recently...
