Just replaced my brake booster on my 91' 80. Patient is now all well again. Braking had gotten really bad, culminating in not working at all. Took about 2 hrs and not too bad really.
I have been having hesitation for a little while and couldn't figure it out. Well I was heading to the store and boom the Gx went into limp mode with CEL and other usual lights. So I pulled over and used my scan gauge and got a P0357 code which is the equivalent to p0307 and turns out it was...
Mine does that, you have to be rough with it. Start in the upright position and pull the lever and let it swing all the way while keeping ahold of the lever.
I'm also on the drain and refill bandwagon. I also own an 80 series and it's standard practice for those. I use an IR thermometer to get my
temps. per FSM. Valvoline Maxlife ATF also, No regrets, Good luck.
I believe that would be the pinion at the front Dif. and I think it's a bit involved to change out that bearing. But not impossible. Maybe someone else will comment.
Well thanks for the feedback, I'm thinking maybe to replace one or both hub bearings with the Blue Pit assembly which has the bearing installed in the hub already. Looks like a one:banana: job.
Like the title says whirring sound when turning left goes away when turning right. I'm thinking either a bad wheel bearing or maybe u-joint but the turning thing would seem to rule out the drive shaft?
Ideas?
thank you in advance
