Short notice, but I thought I'd throw it out there.....
My wife is away fighting a forest fire in Arizona so I'm thinking of an impromptu camping trip to Beef Basin.
Endless off-trail hiking and world class archaeology.
Leaving Tuesday or Wednesday. No specific return date. I've got dogs and a trailer, so access via Highway 211 at the Dugout Ranch rather than Elephant Hill.
I'm committed to a solo trip but would welcome company.

Ummmmm, I'm currently in the neighborhood. Tempting. My hiking ability isn't what it used to be, but I could try and keep up.

Pappy, I sent you a PM.
Isn't retirement great?

Oh hell ya.

Let us be your inspiration. We look forward to you joining us some day.

Just rub it in a little more you unemployed old guy.
Not just unemployed, gainfully unemployed with a desire for adventure.

Nothing. He had something come up and couldn't make it.
These are my life goals. Somebody invites me along for an adventure. Then they have a conflict and can't make it but my schedule is so flexible and open I still go and enjoy it and then rub it in that their trip was amazing without them.
