One of mine busted due to a mishap. Any advice on where to get one other than the dealership? OEM is over $200 for one sensor.

I bought some on Amazon but they didn’t fit. It came in a pack of 4 but all were the smaller size. The one that busted on mine is the one just to the left of the hitch. It is bigger than the ones located near the corner.

(I have a 2008 SR5, fyi).

Thanks.

Busted how? When wife backed up her Sequoia into my Tundra, I looked at the price of new sensor then closed the browser tab and epoxied the broken sensor together. The sensor itself was not damaged, though, only the clip around it shattered.

Wife backed into the trailer 😖
The connector/clip on the sensor is busted. The retainer clip that mounts to be bumper is gone as well.
I can’t even find junk yards with 2nd gen’s on the lot. 😔

JB Weld?

My wife did something similar then was mad when she learned the truck would have beeped at her but I turned that feature off. I seem to remember finding a replacement on Ebay for not too much money, mine was the outer one though.

The ones I am finding, even ones that come in a “complete 4-pack,” all have the same size sensors. I’m just going to wait until I find one at a junk yard somewhere.

Wait...the sensor itself is broken...not the wiring harness connector? Just making sure I understand what you're describing. Pictures always help. The inserts that hold the sensors are cheap and can be purchased color matched from Toyota. If the vehicle wiring harness is fine, get one from a wrecking yard, or stop being a cheapskate and pay the man. What color is your wifes demolition derby car? Toyota has different part numbers for the inner and outers, aside from color codes.

The part that clips in is busted. The actual sensor itself is probably fine. But won’t work if it’s not properly clipped into the harness. I tried to straighten the pins and stuck it in the harness then gorilla taped it on there. But didn’t work.

It’s not that big of a deal. But just an annoyance.

@hoch it appears you have the sequoia in super white, which I believe means you need toyota PN: 8934133140A0
the color matched retaining ring looks like PN: 8934833040A0
TOYOTA GENUINE 89341-33140-A0 SENSOR, ULTRASONIC, NO.1 OEM | eBay - https://www.ebay.com/itm/352948393846 should get you the sensor under $100. It comes out of the UAE, but I have ordered several parts from them and haven't had an issue yet.

Oh, and if you check www.car-part.com in Utah for Bumper Cover (rear), I came up with a sensor and wiring harness set for $125 from Rowland Auto Wrecking in West Valley?

Thanks! Found the one in West Valley. 👍 Wonder if it includes all 4 sensors. You know, in case the trailer decides to ram into my wife again. I’ll have to ask them.

Did the harness come with all 4 sensors? Curious myself.

I haven’t gotten it yet. I called them and they said they’d have it ready. Drove 45 min there and they never pulled it. The guy said well, we can get it ready by the end of the day. Nothing else we can do 😡
I left pretty frustrated. I wasn’t about to make an hour and half drive again.
