Well, I’ve been more buried in work the last two weeks than ever, so not so much progress on the shop. Still slowly sorting through accumulations of parts (like the 74 parking brake adjusters I posted a week ago) and moving more transfer case parts across the shop to new shelving.

I’m heading out to visit my adopted older sister, the owner of the MM40

MM40-The Adventure Continues

for a couple of days, as well as attending three land use meetings. Per my new protocol, the answering machine has been turned off until my return.

Three’s a crowd!

Finished the third t-case in 3weeks and still buried in 8 carbs and a big engine job. No time to work on the pallet racks reorganization. Money is good. Sometimes time is as good, or even more so. Thinking about a voluntary moratorium on new jobs until I get some more stuff done around here.

Well, there’s an old saying that where the mind goes, the body follows. I said I was thinking about a moratorium; now I have little choice: I have a nasty flu.

I AM SUSPENDING ALL LABOR JOBS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. If your job is already here, I will get to it, but not on my usual schedule. If you haven’t already sent me something to rebuild, DONT, without clearing it with me.

I finished one resto carb yesterday. Gorgeous, but it took 10 hours. That brought me down to 7. Then two more showed up today.:bang:

Based on current circumstances, my best guess is that I will get caught up by the beginning of May.

I am still available to sell parts in the meantime, but am going to cut back outbound shipments to twice a week.

Truly sorry it has come to this, but I feel like I pushed too hard, and my body pushed back.

Sorry to hear you got hit with it. There are some really Nasty flus going around right now.

I know how hard you were pushing when you got my steering sorted on my 55. Thanks again for squeezing me in when you could.

Hope you recover thoroughly and quickly Mark.

Mark, every time I stop by your place, carbs always seems to be multiplying!!! No rush on my stuff, I will be out of the country most of April. Hope you feel better.

Take two shots per day and feel better. Need any help, lemme know. I'll wear a mask.

Crap, I was going to come by on my way to Fresno.
Your not going to like this flu. It sucks
:eek::crybaby::moon::poop::flush:

Well, it's certainly anything but dull around here. Tina and I are mostly over the flu now, but her eye problems that started a month ago have persisted and continue to deteriorate. Working her way through the juggernaut of the Kaiser managed health care system, she finally got her follow up appointment with a retina specialist a few hours ago. Diagnosis: she has a macular hole smack dab in the middle of her right eye.

Surgery is recommended within the next few weeks, followed up with two weeks of face-down bed rest while the post op bubble does it's thing of keeping pressure on the site. With the kids gone, this means I will spending a lot more time around home taking care of her. Good thing carbs are portable.

Thank all of you who are continuing to call in your orders and keep the lights turned on over here while we trudge through this. At times like this, it means a lot to know that some of you still consider a purchase at Mark's Off Road a 'value-added' purchase.

I'm glad to hear that there is a surgery that can help, though two weeks of face-down bed rest sounds like torture to me. My mother had macular degeneration for the last 10 years or so of her life; there was nothing to done for it back then. All best wishes for a successful surgery and quick recovery for Tina.

For a man who has been through so many trials and tribulations in the last two years you have done it all with style, grace, hard work and perseverance. You have kept your head up and your determination to move foward no matter how slow it may have been at times you kept moving. Mark you have my respect and I am glad you are still in the fight and haven’t given up.

That is GREAT news! Glad to know your getting some help with her eye. Tell her there is no pain involved. The good news is that it can be fixed and she will be good to go in no time. Glad to hear your all feeling better! I'll call you next week!

Dave

Tina told me at breakfast this morning how much your reassurance, as someone she knows who has gone through several procedures, means to her. Scott (SW20) and Alf (SpikeStrip) have also come by and shared stories with her. For this I Thank all of you too.

Mark, Just got in the gaskets and hard parts I ordered while you were sick, thanks for fighting thru it. Hope all goes well with your wife's surgery.
Frank
