ok one super annoying thing I noticed today when just double checking the bolts, my sway bar bushings are actually on backwards. I slid mine but didn’t remove them, so I’m assuming the dealer put them on backwards when they removed my sway bar...
I was told 9 ft/lbs torque when closing.
Definitely agree you should clean up the rust and figure out your preferred method of preventing future build up (regularly slather in marine grease, regularly spray with LPS3, etc.). I had mine primed...
I’ve found 2 turns is sufficient. YMMV I guess, but there’s zero difference in effort to move the sway bar around between 2 and 3 turns for me. I only go two turns now because why risk it?
When you’re done slather the bolts of the KDSS valves...
For KDSS valves, it’s 3 full turns, no more. Some where between 4 and 5 turns, they will come out and that means you’ve just spent $1000 to get your KDSS system refilled and pressurized at a dealer. Don’t ask how I know this…
It’s possible you...
Let's add some visuals to the KDSS drama here. The only thing worse than working in this heat, is working in the direct sun so I made a makeshift shade setup.
So I am ignoring the shutter valves, and just started tackling the Anderson Max KDSS...
Drove down from Bozeman to south of Denver today to meet up with a buddy, tomorrow we’re headed to camp at Medano then on to silverton Monday for Check In.
Super excited about CROCKIES 2025, looking forward to seeing Y’all there.
@linuxgod is saying he opened his for the lift install, but didn't for the KDSS relocation install and there was NO lean, so I guess I'll give it a go.
Now the question is, do I open the ONE valve that does move. haha
I just finished changing oil, ATF, drain/fill Power Steering Reservoir (at 1 AM). And I still have some packing to do and think I'm leaving at 10 am for a 6-hour drive from Albuquerque. I'm probably delusional.
I serviced my other front wheel bearing this morning, I am ready to rock and roll. Nice shots @pdot I think I might leave Sunday and fish my way SE and arrive at camp open
Sadly, as everyone else is showing off their packed up rigs, I am one of those who have a little work ahead of me. Luckily I am only 6.5 hrs away if I don't make any stops. One of the big things that I am now stressing over is this...
We're less than a week away. I'm starting to get a little excited. I've still got a long list of things I need to get done on Friday before I head up on Saturday and disperse camp for a couple days over the weekend and then on to Kendall on...
I developed these kits for these exact purposes:
OEM Toyota 10mm 'low profile' magnetic diff drain plug kits
Above: 200/300 series diff plug kit
Diff drain ring protector (replacement ring- bare mild steel)
above: diff drain protector ring...
Wondering if anyone's done this. I was told it can be done, but it'll be more of a pain. I was also told that my lift kit can be installed w/o opening, just a pain. The lift install was a huge pain, but there was a bigger issue. My 2013 had a...
So after quick test drive home from the shop
For those familiar with SoCal and are freeway on/off ramps they’re usually sectionalized concrete and they move over time so can get bumpy
I was getting a slight thud/jarring in the rear end on these...

Another neglected critical part I’ve never seen mentioned here, cause yall hyper fixated on what tires and offset your wives will like….
This was surprisingly a 1/2...
Keep it a couple more years and then sell it to Gabe ;-)
Seriously though, what are the advantages of the 200 platform to you? If you love the 80, and it’s doing what you want on road trips, camping trips, and trails, and the 200 is really...
