I'm guilty. I'm semi-attached to all my vehicles (6) and sometimes this 1 get neglected. BUT, it definitely is the best one to neglect because of how solid it is. I'll stand here and get ridiculed now

I already have the new OEM Shocks sitting in the garage for about 6 months. Just looking for motivation to swap them out lol. I'll do them and report back on how big of a difference it made

I ended up using superstruts like BIGMF'S post (link below). Instead of having all the weight on the L bracket and the stock rail slots, I added a u bolt on the outside (see pics). I am not an engineer but I just assume that the u bolt helps pull the bar down on the rails so it'll help...

I saw the 8020 option but it just doesn't seem like a lot of space below the rack to mount the RTT.

Looking for a temporary solution to use my RTT this month vs waiting for a rack to be built. My tent is about 160 lbs Will these Amazon crossbars on stock rails hold better than the stock 100 series crossbars? Thanks for the input

You got a great deal. Did you run the carfax or did the seller run the carfax for you? Hoping you did because I know there is an odo rollback and carfax scam going on with 4x4 Toyotas and Lexus. Your carfax looks legit though from what I can see.

My leaf springs squeaks like crazy over bumps. Thought it was because of the shocks but now I have new shocks and they still squeak. I know there are many techniques and products to stop the squeak but what worked for you on the fj40?
