I am getting 40 rods to the hogshead! But the BMW F650 just turned in a fabulous 69.6 MPG!

I am with Arya on this one. I rarely see much over 250 miles on a tank. If I am on the highway (not Interstate) I can manage up to 290 or 300 miles, but that is the exception. I am very Happy when I see 14.5 MPG, but that is very rare.

They are 'defiantly' fuel cooled? You mean they don't like being cooled by fuel? Mine has yet to be so defiant that I couldn't get to where I wanted to go! :doh:

I have had this EXACT same problem all week and was worried about my tranny. I have a thermostat that is blown and is being held open so the engine never reaches operating temperature. What 'landtank' describes is perfectly accurate. New thermostat goes in tomorrow. I had to wait 3 days for...

Did they miswire the plugs as they put them back in? I would check the firing order.

Not to sound like a complete NooB, but which side of the engine is the thermostat housing setting on for the 1FZFE motor in a 97 Landcruiser? Is it on the lower right side of the motor or the upper left? Usually the thermostat sits right under the upper radiator house, but the TLC is a little...
