Very cool! Yea, I agree it would be nice to see a few mods you've done to your rig. I think it would be fun to do a mini mud meet with a few local rigs but looks like the old nor cal moderator moved to Tennessee lol. Last time I had my truck...
Definitely jealous of your KOH trip. I went about 8 years ago and it was a blast! I was working for Georg @ valley hybrids at the time and we got to be part of a pit crew for a driver called rusty nail I think. He drove a 87 xtra cab totally done...
I feel your pain with not being able to find new parts for these older rigs. Even used parts are definitely getting a lot harder to find and that is why I’ve spent the majority of the time I’ve owned my truck looking for spare parts. There aren’t...
Turns out only the rear seat pedestal is taller on the 4Runner seats. I decided to cut out a 1” section or the rear pedestal and leave the front alone. Seats fit much better now that they are lower.
I was hoping you’d chime in for the winch, your winch rebuilds are always amazing to look at. I have a super winch contractor on my 8274 I’ll mess around with before I order an Albright. Worst case is this one gets for new solenoids and I move...
I completely understand how project priorities go and that somethings get benched while others take precedent given your current abilities, funds and confidence. That being said, there are always those upgrades we do that once completed, you say...
Met up with @whiteyota today and figured out a game plan to lower my seats. Thanks again for the insight and great conversation! I need to lower my seat about an inch to bring it back to spec. I’ll post pics when I start cutting and grinding.

Those are the brackets I used. I bought a pair of Corbeaus to use with them, but the Corbeaus didnt really fit.
I got the Runner seats from the pick n pull in Rocklin. I had to modify the bracket mounting hole for the rear of the passenger...
When you say planted seat brackets, does that mean non adjustable? Are they something custom you fabbed or something factory you found. Thanks!
It’s a smitty bilt. The tuffys are super nice though. I was considering picking one up
Not too far up the road from you in Anderson is Damper Dudes. I've bought several both new and rebuilt domestic dampers from them and been very happy with their product. Very well thought of in the various domestic forums that I frequent.
They...
Good to know and very cool! Got any pics??? I’m thinking about lowering these seats. I have some seat brackets from a 84-88 drivers seat that I could use to mod the 94. I’m also looking at the gas pedal and contemplating ways to make the pedal...
Exactly. The smallest bit of height gain kills leg room, I swear they didn’t make these trucks for anyone taller than 5’6” lol. After driving around today I’m pretty confident I can deal with it. The seats are crazy comfy and this outweighs the...
So here is what I was able to… there are these bump stops that prevent the seat from going past the 3rd notch. I ground them down and was able to get another 2 notches of adjustment. My tiny single cab will only allow for one additional notch of...
Update:
The 4Runner seats will not go back as far as the original 84-88 seats. It’s not much but definitely makes driving less comfortable to have your knee cocked up. I noticed that there are still a few teeth to be had on the tracks. Going to...
I’ve always wanted to post my rig up in this thread but never did for some reason…

Scored big time with these mint seats out of a 94 4runner. So I know there are other threads out there about info on seat interchangeability and the question of whether or not the 89-95 generation Toyota seats would fit has been pretty much...
Looks like most of the A/C hoses and small items are still available through Toyota but that will nickel and dime you to death. Have you tried calling a auto dismantler and see what they would charge for every single last little piece needed for...
Figured I would follow up and complete this thread. So after contemplating my petty problems in life, I decided to just install the Dayco harmonic balancer but what I failed to realize is that this harmonic balancer is actually made by Powerbond...
Mudder is right about the top plate. I completely forgot that I had to do this exact thing to get my A/C lines in the proper configuration. What year is you engine?
