How Much Should Tailgate Handles Cost?

If anyone knows where I can get a Tailgate handle for my old girl I would love to know. No joy finding one locally.

Bit of an Update :) Ray from Spectre Off Road has been awesome and the Spacers should be on there way. Thanks for everyones help. Delancy, I can buy FJ55 TRE's individually here no worries. I would have much preferred to use a later model TRE to suit the diff and Steering rather than the...

Time for a "Minor" update The brakes on the FJ were completely poked, literally all of it bar some of the lines needed to be replaced. So the rears got new drums, new shoes and new wheel cylinders. In the engine bay a replacement used booster got a lick of paint and a New Master Cylinder has...

FJ55 Drum to Disc Front - Steering Help Needed

FJ55 Drum to Disc Front - Steering Help Needed

Hey All, I am hoping someone can point me in the direction of an easy fix. The brakes were shot on my 73 FJ55 when I got it and as part of the fix i decided a disc front end was in order. It came in the form of a complete front diff from a 1978 FJ55 and the Specialist Landcruiser wrecker who...

Hi Pablo, I understand your question now. The shoulder strap on these does not clip into the sash separately. My MS51 2 Door crown coupe had those, very cool style of belt. These are your typical non retractable Lap sash belt. These are much the same as in my 73 Celica had so I am pretty sure...

I can see how it wasn't worth restoring but with AC and a manual window tailgate and the same rear lights as mine, that alone is worth some real dollars to me in the way of parts.

Hi Dan, Just read through your thread. My 55 was advertised on Car Sales. Like yourself i wanted a Tailgate version not a Barn Door and I wanted the front bench Seat. So when this popped up I bought it sight unseen and flew over to get it. It needs a LOT of work mechanically, but I am still...

Pablo, The belts are adjustable ones for all 6 passengers. The B pillar bolt belt fitment was done on a lot of cars that came in around the same time as belts became a requirement. Locally made vehicles here did not have the mounting points for the belts, so it is how they were all done to meet...

Belts Pablo, Here is where the belts mount. They all have the TEQ logo so I assume are factory fitted and Genuine Toyota items. Pretty sure they were a compliance item here in Australia by 1974.

Thanks Pablo, I bought this one because it was the least rusty I had seen. It only has a rust hole in one Guard, both sills and the Left hand rear corner that I have found so far. Other than everything under neath it of course. The previous owner used it for 5 years to put his boat in and out...
