It kills me to say so, but I'm forced to sell / trade my 98 100 for a rig that can tow our families 5th wheel. Had to sell my tow rig last year in an "economy" forced move..
Purchased my 100 last year in hopes of building it up, I've done a ton of refurb work (new 285 ATs, New shocks, new...
Hey guys as a followup to a worrysome sound, it was something simple. Tbars cranked too high on aftermarket CVs. I lowered the tbars down 7 rotations and now front and rear match AND clicking is totally gone! Doh! Thanks for all the suggestions, gonna order diff drop now too just to b safe...
Grew up in Auburn, Wa - currently live in Federal Way / NE Tacoma area.
I posted an issue I am having with my front diff last night and everyone here is very helpful. I'm working 12+ hour days and just dont have much time to troubleshoot my issues!
Was wondering if there were any GOOD...
thanks for the comments guys. Funny you should mention the retainer clip; we actually noticed that most of the noise was coming from a loose pad and we ordered a new set of clips and when he got it installed, the clicking sounded deeper. The loud noise went away but it sounded deeper in the...
Good evening, need some help from you LC 100 experts please! I recently purchased a 98 LC with high miles (we are at 263k now - bought with 256k). Got a good deal but knew Id have to do work..
Recently had both front wheel bearings replaced & repacked along with both front CV axles by local...
Curious if there has been any progress on this project? I have the 98 LC, non-NAV with (3) rotary dial knobs and would LOVE to put in the stock Navi setup IF possible. Heck, even the digital climate control from an LX would suit me better.
262 on our 98. Purchased it 6 months ago.. lots of highway miles from previous owner. So far we've done the following: 285 BFG ATs, Steering Rack, both front wheel bearings, both front CV axles and oil change. Next we'll be doing Trans flush, diff fluids, etc. The previous owner had $ and...
Thanks for the help guys. The links to those guides give me new hope of not having to spend $1500 on this project. I have a car that I can drive until it sells so I have some time to do the work myself..
We were going to sell the Cruiser but I think I've decided to keep it for the long haul...
Have a 98 LC that we purchased 6 months ago for a great deal. I've learned why somethings are a great deal but also understand that once fixed, my LC will be all I want it to be.
My dillema:
a few months back, I had a clunk when starting and stopping; thought it was the drive shaft issue...

260k still going strong
Located: NE Tacoma, Wa
Talking with the wife here recently and she indicated that she loves her Land Cruiser we bought for her at the end of last year but the fuel economy isn't what she had hoped for. I think we get 12mpg around town and...
261k here on our "new to us" 98. Loving it; even though shes got a mind of her own. We'll get her straightened back out. Previous owner did tons of highway trips in it; got it for a good deal. Just found out we have a bit of $ to put in (new steering rack, CV, etc.).
Loving it though!
