Can a Stock 80 on Pleasant Canyon/South Park Loop in Death Valley

South Park I drove my 80 on that loop several years ago, no problem at all, it was a great drive. But since then two jeeps have gone over the side at chicken rock, breaking down the bank and narrowing the road even worse than it was. google "chicken rock south park". I ran across a post that...

    How to install hub studs?

Too Tight I double nutted my new studs and tourqed them to the nut torque (22 ft-lbs) and ended up stripping out the hub threads. There is no stop for the studs so I managed to suck the stud shoulder right through the first few hub threads. I ended up buying a new hub. I installed my new hub...

    Combination Meter/ Instrument Console

Real time help. I popped out combo meter since I was almost there on a project and I have a couple of bulbs out. Trouble is I don't know which is which, Neither the FSM or Electric Manual have a physical sketch of the panel. Is there a way to pick up the bulb check relay or is there a diagram...

Axle Rebuild - FAQ Torque Clarification

Go Easy Your intuition is correct. FSM calls for 26 ft-lbs which is way overkill. I just stripped a brand new OEM stud in a brand new hub by following FSM torque. All that is really required is to seat the cone washers and hold them in place, there is minimal axial load on the flange.

80 series Tailgate will not open.

Afterthought Try and salvage the pieces of the clip just in case the numbers don't work, I seem to recall it took two tries to get the right part from the dealer. Even the color of the plastic is good info, they are color coded for diff types.

Modify OEM subtank to increase capacity?

What size is your stock subtank? Do you know if your 80 was sold new in Calif? I presume you have had the existing setup smogged in Calif. Passing smog test in Calif is the major issue for any fuel tank mods. The cool stuff that others have done with fuel tanks may not be an option for those of...

Kaymar rear 80 bumper: exhaust interference solution?

I had the same issue with my Kymar install and tried to live with it but coudn't hack it.
