    Does anyone recognise this connection?

ineed it is the '98, last of the !FZ-FE's here. turns out it was a Throttle sensor, wired to 1 x solenoid in the manifold, but 2 x solenoids in the new (earlier) manifold. all solved!

    Does anyone recognise this connection?

the old 1FZ-FE had 2 wires in, 2 out ('98 motor) in my hand, 2 wires cut from the old loom. The new connection has 4 wires in. Just foreword of the inlet manifold, behind the distributor. This photo is looking aft. I can get an auto elec to look at it on the weekend if the hive mind here can't...

    Distributor orientation/alignment

I've just put another 1FZ-FE in my '98 cruiser. I'm being paranoid: who can show me a photo showing how the distributor sits in situ once installed? Does the #1 plug lead sit highest vertically toward the bonnet, or furtherest forward, toward the radiator?

    Pilot bearing

    Clutch whine

Any tips on removal of the pilot bearing? I filled the cavity with grease and hammered a dowel in three, but it wouldn't come.

    2 x 1FZ-FE engines. Different flywheels??

I do declare you're right. Looks like a boss that will pull off. I presume it's an adaptor, perhaps for an auto?

    2 x 1FZ-FE engines. Different flywheels??

i pulled out my cooked engine, and bought another from a wrecker. Got the flywheel off, and it matched the new engine for fit, and bolt pattern but the bolts are not long enough and the new engine crankshaft plate is thicker by an inch. Photo below. New engine on the left, with the thicker...
