    Solid Rock and "Roll"

It is, DAMHIK, and someone else did most of it even! Piece in the bent pieces Jim - CIM Auto Body in Northglenn is worth the drive. Oh, and not too many people are successful at removing a used windshield in one usable piece!

v-6 trans to gear drivin t-case adapter

I run an R151. Yes it will bolt right up to a geared tcase, but that is the most expensive way to go - if you can even find one. Toyota does not sell a geared tcase adapter to make with the R150 (transmission that mates with the chain tcase). These are sold by Marlin, Advance, Inchworm, and...

    Is there even a comparison???

Massive corroisin due to inferior coolant

NEVER retorque a TTY headbolt such as found on the 3VZE. I have retorqued 22R headbolts and found them slightly out of spec. It is a service item. Agreed that it pales in comparison to lousy coolant condition as a cause of HG failure though.

Never done a timing chain, how many hours?

My buddy bought a truck needing motor work. The PO replaced the timing chain but didn't pull the pan. There were VERY FINE little chunks of plastic all over the pan. Some were sucked into the pickup. Pull it. Also RE the headgasket, with an older truck IMHO you are missing an opportunity to...

Toyota Starter Rebuild Kit $39.95!!!!! Where do you get those copper slugs CHEAP?

Nope. Are you? Surely you don't believe Toyota jacked the price because our microcommunity is rebuilding starters?

Massive corroisin due to inferior coolant

That's why I shudder when guys change the timing chains without changing the HGs. You gotta figger: 1) it's an old truck and they ain't the original owner 2) being an 'old truck', as opposed to how WE see them (classics), they didn't likely get the best of care 3) the radiators likely sprung a...

    Best Lift Kits

Research Trail Gear's business practices first. I will not support them. Same springs are available from All-Pro and Marlin, and you can save the difference by not buying pop for lunch for a while. Support those who support us. I run the stock length fronts and clean the Golden Crack without...

Toyota Starter Rebuild Kit $39.95!!!!! Where do you get those copper slugs CHEAP?

Not a conspiracy, I'm sure Toyota hasn't even noticed people are rebuilding starters. It's commodity prices mostly. Copper has gotten EXPEN$IVE!!!

    reusing 22re head gasket-bad idea?

In your particular situation, you could avoid changing the HG. However, about the time the timing chain needs service you are approaching the service life of the HG. That is probably why the master mechanic gave you the look. Lots of guys have done it, but I have had a HG fail due to age...

    ordered my sas kit today

I doubt you will be able to match the front lift (AP 5" is more like, say, 7"!!!) with Chebbies. One thing you will notice with blocks is axle hop. BAD axle hop. The A-P rears flex well and will match the fronts. Relocating the front hanger is no big deal, A-P sells a front hanger as well.

adding Ball Joint spacers to the OME 2" lift kit??

Heavier T-bars yield a harsh ride and reduced flex in my experience. Cruiser coils are excellent. So are OME H-D coils. The advantage of ball joint spacers is preservation of the ride, and flex, adding only mechanical lift.

    Eaton ELocker

Not the entire axle... the entire diff. Yes, that's the price. You need to carve on your axle housing a bit. Installing an ARB is not that tough either, if you don't need to change gear ratios.

    Introduction

You should clear 33s with a modest suspension lift, such as OME. Consider 33x10.50s. Lots of wheeling got done with 31s though, back in the day!
