Quick update, no photos since I suck at remembering to take photos of my own projects...
Installed Diode Dynamics HP5 194 LEDs in the front map lights, 2nd row dome lights, cargo dome lights, door puddle lights, and ground/running board lights...
The rigs are great, but adding cc and mts add a LOT of capability for (pre '20) very little coin. I'd take a stock rig with no lift and OEM tires with cc/mts over a lifted rig with regular ATRAC and larger tires every day, and twice on...
It really is a can't miss. I haven't made it out to Utah yet but everytime I go to Colorado, I am blown away by the beauty and how many trails there are. Lucky for me my kid is about grown so I am starting to have more time to get away now. It...
my wife will make me run some type of anchor. which as a though experiment i initially thourunnijg a winch would be okay but don’t think my 12k line can support a dynamic fall. using a kinetic rope may be better.
Appreciate the fuses link, I will check them. The only reason I think it might not be a fuse is because the ONLY thing not working are my key fobs (even with brand new batteries) and the audible 1 beep for lock and 2 beeps for unlock. The remotes...
Regarding shocks, avoid performance shocks that have to be rebuilt every 15,000 miles or so, read: Fox, Icon, etc. Usually they'll be with external reservoirs.
I had Icon's for about 7 years and every couple years I was building them at hundreds...
My wife would be absolutely freaking out on those shelf roads! Unless the trail is wide, a berm, trees, or something to prevent a long hard tumble, she'd almost prefer to walk the trail.
Anyway after helping a stranded guy that had broken down, we were off to Black Bear. As we got on the trail a motorcyclist told us that there was a SxS broken down beneath the steps and had traffic backed up as far as you could see. I was...
Last year I tried to do the Alpine Loop but Black Bear was shutdown so I've spent the last year wanting to go drive it. I love that area so it was a great excuse to take a quick trip up to that area over the long weekend.
It is about a 16 hour...
Had my thermal degradation value read yesterday. 1011 at 20,800 miles. Maybe I didn't get the trans as hot as I thought. Went ahead and picked up a sixer of fluid at the stealership to do a drain and fill, $12/qt.
Congrats on your new rig! Quick question which I'm sure many on here may be curious about, why such a short time with the Grenadier?
Wow! That's quite a project list!
Have you opened some of the sticky posts on the main page regarding...
Hey Mud fam.... Long time lurker, but I guess it's time to post something finally. I run a small business that advises clients on vehicle selection and modifications specific to their needs as well as trip/route planning to physically get to...
Got a good deal on a hitch swing (1UP Rak Attach) off FB, which makes it easier to access my cargo area while using the pak mule hitch rack. The unique feature of the rak attach is that you can mount to either swing towads the passenger or...
I had a period where I was traveling 100% (ever week) for work and knew I would not get to use it so I decided to sell it. Things like that tend to "rot" when not used, so sent it to a good home.
I'll get another at some point.
It's been a good long while since I posted anything here ... life gets busy, we've moved, blah blah.
I have used it a few times for "solo" camping over last couple of years - mostly the night before a big hike.
This weekend the family got out...
