Supercharged FZJ80 Detonation and Overheating Issues

As other experienced members have posted on this mud forum, the 93/94 with the vein type air flow meters run out of fuel as the meters can not read (they top out) the additional air from the SC. These old girls therefore run lean as earlier stated in this thread. Water / methanol is a method...

    TRD supercharger for Australia 4.5

Alex, One thing to remember is the US guys drive on the other side of the road so... putting the TRD kit on an Oz vehicle means you need to consider how to route air intake to the throttle body around the Vacuum Booster (not too difficult) and if a manual the clutch master cylinder too (more...

TRD SC install - clutch slave in the way

Thx George. Here is my dilemma... I can perhaps make an induction pipe using an aluminum donut. I can't go under it as it will interfere with ac and heater hoses. Although it sounds weird, I reckon I can go over oit! I am open to all feedback, including laughs!. Pooley

Blasphemous post. 80-series lovers keep away!!

Hey Croozer, I get about what Rove_Mcanus suggest with my Manual Petrol. If yours has not been changed I would try changing out the O2 sensor as that sets your tune. I also run my base timing at about 5 degrees BTDC (standard is 3 degrees). I find this helps. Any more advance and I lose a...

I want to install a TRD SC in my 94 LC???

Tapage, yep, still have the O2 sensor. The want for the Lamda meter is for the initial install to ensure my fuel ratio does not become devastatingly lean while the ecu tries to cope with the extra air and tune. Also to ensure my old efi can handle the fuel volume at the upper revs. I am a...

I want to install a TRD SC in my 94 LC???

Thanks guys, given its sitting in the shed, I suppose I have nothing to lose other than a weekend put aside to try it. I mainly bought it for towing capability so I will soon find out how it perfoms under load. My brother in law owns a Lamda meter, so i will use that to ensure no lean...

I want to install a TRD SC in my 94 LC???

G'day CruiserDan, I am a newbie to this forum and have purchased a trd sc to fit to my 93 cruiser...now i join/read this forum too late it seems. My query is around the pinging you have solved via methanol injection. I live in Australia where the 93/94 models came out without PAIR valves, EGR...
