For people who've done this: how much did your mechanic charge? Any hassle getting Ironman to pay the full amount? They say "approximately 3 hours (2hours + alignment) with an average rate of $150 per hour" in the FAQ but I think that sounds a little fast to get this done.
Oh another thread that devolves into what a real Land Cruiser is or is not. Cool.
I think a sticker would be funny as hell.
What would be even better is a chrome lettered factory looking badge to add "-ish" below the Land Cruiser emblem on the back left.
You gotta love the irony about the truck being delayed due to Houthi rebels, when those rebels are using the same truck!* This is the NPR picture from an article earlier this year on the Red Sea attacks.
My FZJ75 left Jeddah on a RORO vessel early Feb and arrived in FL in early March via the...
Basic stuff like winging it and not reading the assembly diagrams on the OME hardware :bang:
And make sure what you're installing goes on the side you're actually working on front or back.
The procedure is the almost exactly the same as the FJ62 instructions found here: FJ62 - Old Man Emu...
Spent about 15 hours in my dirt driveway swapping the original suspension for the OME kit. Things actually came apart pretty easy, much easier than my FJ62, but still a long long job. And I still made a few rookie mistakes just to make sure it didn't go too smooth. Bushings were actually in...
Regarding this thong slapper, are we talkin' flip flops or underwear? Very different images in my head.
Yup. People have no idea how basic a 70 is. I've gotten a ton of attention on my 75 series pickup so far, but very few people have correctly identified it as a Land Cruiser (even though it...
My front main seal was leaking something fierce so I replaced it. Removing the crank bolt was more difficult than on a previous engine I did. The starter trick couldn't crack the bolt, it was just bending the breaker bar against the frame. Then I had two 1/2" breaker bars going the traditional...
Replaced a whole laundry list of small parts from three big Partsouq orders:
- New wiper arms. PS arm was slipping on the post and the nut was trashed.
- All three mirrors. No more vibration in the mirror while driving!
- Gauge cluster glass. The old one had some super old fluid spray spots on...
Got 4 taken off my 75.
Tires are 7.50r16, made in Japan. They're in acceptable driving condition if you're into these tires.
The wheels have spots of surface rust but they could probably clean up nice.
I also have a 5th matching spare that's absolute trash in comparison but you can have it...
Well I solved this. Just needed to reach in above the spare tire from the back and basically do a contorted reacharound to push the rod back up the tube far enough that I could grab it with a telescoping magnet, then replaced the spare.
This is the original spare I believe, and it's absolutely...
People who respect the value of money don't buy new cars. Or Land Cruisers honestly. Every Land Cruiser I've owned has been a bold faced disrespect of my own money and yet here I am...
I only had one key with this truck and it was not a good key, some sort of hand cut generic key that barely worked. It didn't even work in the passenger door, almost didn't work in the driver or ignition when it was cold. I had a locksmith measure the lock with a tool and then reverse engineer...
