If there's an exception to the rule because you're military, I'm not aware of it. I can only tell you the rule about having it registered in another state for a period of time (mine was registered in SD for 5 years) and trying to register it in CA didn't work. It was going to work because...
I know this is an old thread but am wondering what happened. I bought a troopy thru them about 6-7 years ago. Other than sloppy and not always communicative, they followed through. They did lose some door cards and a working tach in the same shipment, so not sure what happened there but I...
BTW, I did exactly the same thing for the same reason and with the same result so was looking on Mud to see what to do! Glad for me that others have paved the way of knowledge Haha. I think we both won't let this happen again.
P.S. I ended ip ordering an inspection cover from Cityracer but in the end, wished I had just kept the other one on (had a cut out covered with aluminum and bolted on) because it doesn't fit exactly. Not all the holes align perfectly so have like 4 out of 6 or something holding it on. Once it...
You know your stuff. I don't except by OJT.
Yes, unfortunately, I know all about the problem with the handbrake drum with the drivetrain being moved back. I had a leak from the seal between the t-case and the drum and it took forever to figure out which seal to put in--the one that goes with...
Looks like the 5-speed gives that extra couple of inches on the front drive shaft where as the 4-speed doesn't. If I put my 4-speed one up where the holes align onthe frame, the t-case drain plug hits the very end of the plate where normally the e-brake drum comes down to fit in that cut out...
I did fail to mention that I had a 5 speed put in it so it moved the drive train back a few inches and that's probably why part of the skid plate hits up against the tranny.
Have one for a 4-speed (see pics) but it doesn't fit mine because everything was moved back a bit for the longer front drive shaft. Rust-proofed them just to find out it won't work.
Question for you, Living in the Past. I took off the skid plate from an '81 HJ47 but it doesn't seem to fit on my 10/82 HJ47. Part of it hits the t-case. Any thoughts?
I think however the post got deleted must have been a sign. $62k for that--as nice as it is (and it's really nice). You have to have money to throw away. People are getting ridiculous on their prices for these things. The ones who pay those prices are even more ridiculous. Sorry to sound so...
When I got my HJ47, the horn didn't really work on one of the three steering wheel "prongs." The other two worked intermittently and only if I held it down for a few seconds (and in reality, I probably was pushing a little more during that time). Six years later, I decided to do something...
