Built or bought, real or not, does it really matter? We are all here because we are car guys and girls and the focus here is on Land Cruisers. We all have our specific tastes and if most are like me they evolve with time. Specifically, I agree...
Ha! I just turned 50 last week. They look classic to me. :) Plus, they'll be black and you don't see them in black that often. But yeah, it's an old school look for sure.
Hey All, I'm posting this to help others who may need the information. I spent a ridiculous amount of time researching this here on Mud and I couldn't come up with a definitive answer/source besides either new, custom built or old, widened...
Hey Mark, I'll give you a call today to set up a time to pick up the hood. There are a couple of other parts that I need to ask you about too. Again, I'm sorry for the delay. It was family stuff and that has to come first.
Great post.
Just in to mention I did the 2 heat and sound on the engine side of the firewall and the bottom of the tub and then Raptor liner on the inside, tinted with material from my paint guy, and am happy so far with it. I have no idea if...
You're absolutely right, there are many vehicles far more suited to what I'm doing. However, they don't bring me joy. My enjoyment is greatly affected by the vehicle I'm driving. I like doing it in my Land Cruiser.

My 72 has the ignition switch on the dash. It's really inconvenient with a roll cage. I'm planning to swap to a later column with the ignition switch there when I do the power steering.
Would it fit with a SBC/NV4500/Orion? If so, put me on the list. And please, please, please let me know if you happen to find one of your tanks way down in the couch cushions or something. I need it badly and they don't ever come up for sale...
Start with what you have and a tape measure.
Measure clearances and buy tires/wheels accordingly.
With 4" of lift you probably want youre tires sticking out a bit which will be accomplished by changing offset.
Ackerman angle be damned .

I'm not trying to do anything groundbreaking here. I just want to run a 33x12.5 on a generic 16x8 inch black steel wheel like this (obviously not 8 lug but you get the idea.) 4 inch lift, cut and flared rear quarters, daily driver, moderate...
I spent two full days searching and reading every thread on Mud related to aftermarket wheel size, backspacing/offset for my impending wheel purchase. Yep, ALL of them. Every single word of every single one. Seriously. Combined, it was about...
