I don’t actually have any pictures of this in my thread, but here is an example of how I tied my upper portion into the cage. I would not recommend using a pin like I did as it has wobble out. Also, I only have 2500 miles on the set up as I just...
You might want to get a spindle that goes all the way through your bumper and welds to the top and bottom. I’ve had various 1-ton spindles welded to the top of my previous bumper and they cracked either at the bumper or right above the bumper...
I thought about what you said when I decided to use that spare tire carrier. When I read your comment this morning, I said to myself that it was probably best that I mountains sucker on the rear bumper. By the way, I appreciate your input and...
While I was at the shop today, I looked at this truck and was reminded of how tall that thing sits. I started thinking about how hard it would be to change a tire in the event that i'd get a flat......the bed is not big at all and throwing this...
Amen to that.
I worked really hard to end up with nice paint, and someday I might look forward to doing it again. Until then I intend to wheel it!
I get some funny looks when I tell people I’m treating it like Bill Cosby would, depending on what...
No way. Mine has been on the road for a year and people used to say that about it when I first backed it out of the driveway. It now has quite a few rock chips and fade from the engine, and I am okay with that. They are way too much fun to...
I think that you will like your vents on the outer edge of the dashboard. I only have the center vents and the center stays nice and cool but the outside is hot.
Interesting, I bought a husk of a ‘45 with the idea that I’d turn it into a wheeler- 112” WB, LS, auto, tons coilovers and 37-40s. Everything I want the 40 to be, but I don’t want to slice and dice it that much.
Then I think even if it’s just...
I might get banned from this forum because I am on the lookout for something rare that I can put late model running gear into, or do a body swap. A 45 wagon will work but I really want an FJ28 LV.
I want to build another one and I am talking myself into it by thinking that I will keep the next one closer to stock, then I get ideas of swapping out the frame, fabbing coilover mounts, and of course 1-ton axles enter into my thought process...
Congratulations on having a year of driving. I remember what it felt like after a complete buildup and yours was more complicated than mine.
I think I’ve got the passenger side fender 90% marked up.
The 45 off the front is a little steep, but...
This is the area that I am thinking about exploring.

Perhaps a convo for outside of this thread but I am also considering taking the Cruiser on a trip to Northern WY in the spring, potentially towards May/June.
There is a lot of dust in that picture but that appears to be a horizontal drill rig. I haven’t seen the winning bid so I don’t know what the engineer recommended but I imagine that they installed some sort of tie back anchors.
