Keep in mind that my Cruiser is very heavy compared to a stock Cruiser, which I imagine cuts into the fuel mileage quite a bit. It weighs 5700 lbs empty. That is without a hard top and doors, too. I am also running a 6.2L with 1-ton running gear...
I’ve had a 350 and 383 sbc in this same cruiser and the LS is no comparison. It drives like a modern truck, and smells like one, too.
I drive mine on the road and I pull a camper over the mountain passes in CO so the extra power comes in very...
Mine is getting 13 mpg and it weighs 5700 lbs empty. I also am not too light on the throttle.
I have 187:1 final drive in low/low and I have amazing control off road.
Wow! I missed a lot in this thread. All caught up for the moment.
I have a tent site all to my self at that moment. If anyone is in need I am open to sharing.
I will be at SAS assuming that my Cruiser is ready. Let’s play it by ear. I will need to come over Wolf Creek Pass with the camper after SAS and head back towards the east side of Stony Pass. I’ll probably stock up on supplies in Creede.
August 8th and 9th would be after SAS. You are attending SAS right? I would be up for that run, I can’t say for sure if that is how I will travel out after the event but let’s stay in touch and try to make it happen.
Due to some unexpected events The Milk Truck will be my daily driver for the summer. Nothing to complain about. It runs great but I do wish I had the AC running. I will be running with the windows down a lot.
I am so excited that something went back on without having to modify it. The bike rack fits! Someone forgot to test fit that when they were making the bumper. I’m ready to drop the Cruiser off in the morning!
Yes and I thought about doing that. Good call. I might be able to drill a hole with the bumper on but I can’t remember if the bumper needs to come off to allow for the box to come out. I think that I will take the bumper off next weekend and see...
Whatever you do I would recommend against mounting speakers to the roll bar at head level. Ha! I’ll never forget hitting our heads on those pointy speakers that my dad installed. I finally removed them after 40 years of misery! The best thing...
Thanks man! Was a great time, truck can handle a lot more I can tell (I need to build up some skills for sure!), next time Ill air down the tires a bit to give the kiddos a more comfy ride!
See if you can get a 12 point wrench in there or a gear wrench, loosen the other 3 first and push the box off the frame. I have had to deal with this before. Worse case take a small die grinder to the frame or whatever is in the way and open it...
One day that box is going to need to come off. And after drilling and tapping my own box, there’s no way I could have done it properly on the frame. Bite the bullet.
