Nfranco, wondering what you ending up doing to fix your rust issues? I just bought a fj62 with some similar rust issues and I live in LA too. Not sure if I want to tackle the fix or look into having it done professionally.

Not to hijack the thread but could you elaborate for me to better understand what you are saying about the fan clutch. Thanks in advance.

I guess I'll need to check mine as I have yet to hear it turn on after shutting down the engine. Is this a fix that needs to be done asap?

Is the carb cooling fan supposed to come on while driving? When I drove my "new" fj62 home last week I kept hearing what sounded like a fan running periodically on the freeway. Any thoughts?

Clean looking truck but it would be hard to buy without driving it. I just bought one last week, was posted here on the classified's, very clean with a few rust issues and several modifications. The most important decision to me is how the truck drove. The rest can be fixed as and when needed...

I just picked up my first cruiser fj62 this week. I have some small rust holes in several spots on the roof line too, but nothing as serious as this FJ though. Any suggestions on repairing these issues would be appreciated, thanks.
