Over the last 2 weeks I got a new air filter, greased the driveline and knuckles, and changed gear oil front, center, and rear. Also got the tires rotated and balanced.
The next few months I will be spending a lot of time in the mtns chasing elk so the rig should be good to go.
Quick run up the mtn this morning to get my steps in. And it was 9/1 so of course the gauge had to tag along. Managed to jump about 9 birds but only managed to get one. They were in some super thick pines.
It must hold more because last time I changed all my gear oil I sourced 2 gallons for the t case and diffs. I had a buddy change the fluid while he was doing some exhaust work for me on the rig and he had to use more than the 2 gallons to finish the job.
He never told me how much extra he...
Of course it will...... The question is how does installing a part time kit in the transfer case affect the capacity. The service manual does not give specifications for aftermarket changes to the internals of the transfer case.
Like when you install arb lockers in the diff it lowers the fluid...
Use a grinder to carefully remove just enough material to clear them through the range of steering. I have done this on 2 rigs with years and hundreds of thousands of miles with plenty of hard offloading with zero issues.
There will inevitably be someone who says this is dangerous and will post...
I've ordered quite a few parts via ebay with great luck so far but I won't touch amazon.
I think the key to success with ebay is checking seller reviews carefully. I will look through the negative reviews going back a year and if I see a single claim of fake parts or sketchy stuff I skip that...
How common are fake parts?
I bought an airfilter on ebay from a seller with awesome ratings. The new airfilter seems different than my old one.
old filter:
New filter and box
Both real parts?
Both fake?
One real one fake?
What experiences have you guys had with fake parts?
What are...
Okay, you guys talked me into it.
If I remember correctly 2 gallons / 8 quarts should be enough to do the t case with a part time kit and 2 diffs with arb's right?
I think last time I used Lucas synthetic 75w-90 in all 3. That should be fine right?
Thanks
First thing i would do is carefully run a tap for the original thread pitch through the threads and see if you can repair them.
This happened to me and i either fixed it with the original tap or ended up drilling and tapping it one size up. I can't remember.
