Over course of 10 years, what type of pavement you have been driving on? 90% paved roads, 10% off road gravel? For example. That's a long time for set of tires.
Almost time to change tires, been riding on Nitto Ridge Grappler 285/65/18 going to 285/75/16, both factory wheels. Had BFH KO2's before, ride was a bit too harsh for me. Occasional dirt/gravel and some sand driving, mostly urban paved daily driver, so road noise and comfort is important...
Sometimes I feel the idling is slightly rough than before, any advice? Truck is up to date with all the belts and fluid replacements and drives fine, just when slowing down to a stop, nothing crazy and not all the time.
Has anyone tried BG fuel treatments? Going on a road trip soon, just...
The squealing just happened more than once and couple seconds longer when I got out of work. Earliest appointment I can take my car in is Wed. In the meantime, can anyone let me know what's the safest belt dressing I can spray at least or just leave it along? I felt slight sputtering too when I...
Since all belt related pulleys and idlers were replaced, I don't know what other bearings could be causing the noise other than the alternator. I did notice the noise after the first crank but once I backed out of garage and put gear from R to D it will sometimes make a quick squeal.
Already...
Good point! Will definitely have mechanic look at alternator. My last battery lasted about 2.5 years and I think the last time alternator was replaced 6-7 years ago..
I just started the truck first time of the day and it squealed as usual but this time it died afterwards, so I had to start again, and it felt a bit rough. I thought it could be the alternator and took it to an Advance Auto to have it checked, no issue with alternator or battery.
Since I have a...
Ok, I followed 2001LC's suggestions, I did hear brake pump come on, no bubbling, while sitting cold it is slightly above Max line, once engine started, it dropped to just below Max. No bubbling.
The squealing is quite loud with the hood open so it was hard to discern where it is coming from...
That's the plan, I found a reputable one 10 min. from my house vs. 2 hours away (where major work was done). That far one is actually a Cruiser specialist and he only works on cruisers from regular maintenance to full on restoration. So I don't know what to say about this squealing incident...
Unfortunately I'm mechanically challenged, unlike most of folks on here. My plan is to take have mechanic check it based on what was just discussed when it needs oil change again in 2.5K miles.
Will try to see if I can get a peek of tensioner without disassembling anything. Below are parts related to belts installed. I confirmed with dealer w/ the VIN number.
16371-0F010 Fan pulley
90916-02585 Serpentine belt
13568-09070 Timing belt
13503-0F010 Timing belt idler

I was able to have someone hear it and it is determined to be from the belts. I have it scheduled to be taken back where I got all the major work done last but it won't be for another two weeks. It seems to be a bit more frequent and maybe a second or two longer now, but still first thing of...
