I've owned three fj40's. Biggest regret in life was selling the first two. Now my 1966 fj40 (probably a '65) is the love of my life. Not a mechanic by trade but my shade tree restoration taught me A LOT! Now, with all of the work I've done to mine zero rust and she'll drive from another 50+ years or as long as gasoline is still a thing. Trying to keep her all Toyota. Next plans, install Fairey O/D (waiting), PTO winch (looking) and my '76 2F (looking for rebuild parts i.e domed pistons). Then she will be complete and I can find a diesel import 70 series (preferrably 4 door 5 speed).
