At one point I had at least 4 OEM rear driveshafts in my garage. Some were pretty beat up.
I had a fabricator source 1/4 wall DOM and he cut the yokes off the old shaft, turned down the ends of the tubing to fit the OEM parts and weld it up...
At the time I was looking for a replacement front shaft, Rick was out of stock so I went with Tom Woods.
It's an OK product but inferior to the OEM stuff. I'm not a fan of Spicer joints and it's impossible to grease the center of the double...
seriously folks, I didn’t mean to start a huge debate over what bolts I should be using aftermarket or OEM where I should get them what I should be paying for them or whether or not I need a thicker u- joint flange.
All I know is I’m going out...
The EFI relay is fired from ECU connector E5 pin 3 (MREL).
That hits pin 3 of the EFI relay (coil) and the other side of the coil is pin 1 which is a hard ground.
This is all documented in the FSM and EWD.
As far as pulling sensors, you're going...
After retiring……move more eat less, Wife is really a good cook and just switched over to healthier food and less mass quantities, lol. While working, I never made time to walk, work out or just take care of myself. Too busy traveling and...
In an earlier post, you mentioned that the EFI MAIN relay was chattering.
Does this coincide with the surging?
This would cause all sorts of issues. The EFI relay supplies +12 to all the sensors as well as the fuel pump.
The ECU fires the EFI...
That's not an "idle" switch. That's the flap switch that is the ground path for the secondary coil in the COR that fires the fuel pump.
I would reverse that ASAP. In the event of a collision, the fuel pump will continue to run even if the motor...
They're about $2 each from the dealer. Can't see the logic in looking elsewhere.
Bolt: 90105-11013
Nut: 90179-11005
Washer: 90201-11013
A full set of 4 will set you back $22.
I'll chime in on this. We recently traded in my wife's 22 Bronco 2door sasquatch black diamond with the 2.3l and auto transmission. Traded it for a new 4runner sr5, we had a 19 trd premium prior to the bronco. Here is my opinion on the bronco...
Been daily driving an 80 since I drove my brand new one off the dealer's lot in 1991. After 22 years I stepped into a pristine 97 LX450.
Honestly, I can't justify spending money on something new. Even the newer Cruisers don't have the same appeal...
We will gladly help you spend your $$$…lol, one of cruiser and company turbo kits makes an 80 much more fun to drive, then we can talk bumpers sliders and bypass shocks….drawers 12v fridge and more fun stuff.. nice looking cruiser even if you...
