What am I missing? You did a fantastic job removing and reinstalling that panel but I addressed those same areas without removing it. You are correct there will be times that drilling is a better option than grinding but as a rule I don't remove...

Why would you ever need to cut spot welds then weld those same pieces back together?

What you think about peeling all the damaged outer sheet metal off the the inner brace then clean the brace up in place before adding the new outer skin material? This method would give you a hard spot to shoot for to keep your existing door gap...

Same here. I don’t want the hassle either. I’m thinking 180-200bhp. That won’t push any limits and seems to be the sweet spot where modifications are concerned. Some have pushed that little motor to 300+. Sure would be fun, but reliability...

I spent a ton of money modifying my 4BT for additional power... and then... and then... and then I turned it all back down because fixing broken stuff all the time wasn't worth the power... A little bit extra goes a long way! YMMV....

The best I can do is $15k... lol. In large part getting started has taken so long because I splash out for stuff, then have to wait to save for a bit. At this point, I've got body panels and most of what I need to jump into the body work...
