I’m leaning towards the e-brakes too. The reason im wanting to swap axles is beacause of the tires. Its almost impossible and expensive for the 9.00x16x37 tube mil spec tires. It would be cheaper to swap the axle. I just cant find info on what length i should order.
Hello mudders!
I’ve got a few questions regarding the m101a1 trailers. I’m wanting to convert the old axle to a more user friendly axle.
-What length hub to hub should i use?
-What weight rating?
-Brakes or no brakes? which i know is a preference thing but curious on y’all opinion?
If anyone...
hello all I am posting this for a fellow mudder in need of some help and thought I'd just share with everyone.
My rig is a 91 fj80. I had recently purchased a new set of wheels and tires from 4wheel parts shipped to my door step.
They were the fuel beast d564 in 17x9 3.5 offset. They claim to...
Check batt with nothing on after a full charge. Or take it to auto zone they'll be able to quick test.
If batt is good start truck. at idle test voltage output from batt. Should be at least 12.8v. One by one turn on accessories and checking voltage at battery in between. when it drops below 12v...
Here's one thing I learned from my own experience that might help. I had 33's and put 4.88 gears. I would be taching around 3000rpms at 75-80 mph. My truck didn't seem to like it. shifting hard and when I had to down shift rpms would jump way high. When I would tow with that set up especially on...
I have 37's and 4.88 gears with an Ausie locker in rear dif.
This set up puts my rig at 1-2 mph over stock on freeway doing 65. IMO go with 4.88 for the simple fact that your gonna eventually land on the 35 vs 37 forums when you eventually get new tires. 4.88 gives you options... we all like...
this is gonna sound a little dangerous. I've done this before with extra caution. I've had your issue on a different vehicle. This is the way I found it.
Chock both rear tires.
Place floor jack near right tire on axle as to only lift right tire off ground around 2-4 inches then quickly release...
