Got my Slee rear bumper installed with a little help from @BVCOTaco!

Exactly as you suspected. Main power on wiring harness was burned on the EGR pipe. Once repaired and secured away from pipe runs without issue on steep inclines once again. Thanks for the insight, much appreciated.

Time to resurrect this thread. Last fall I burned up my fusible link on a fairly steep incline. Originally I had replaced it with just a standard fused wire and put a 5A fuse in there. The next steep incline I was on it blew that fuse. After much discussion on the pros/cons of replacing the...

Fusible link was torched...it still smelled of burning. Replaced it and she fired right up!

We towed her home with another Cruiser today, will definitely start doing more diagnosis tomorrow. Thanks for the insight!

OK, no CEL when the key is is switched to ON. Reading more, seems like this could be Fusible Links, EFI Fuse, or EFI Relay. More tomorrow.

I have a 1996 FZJ80 that will not start. Here's what happened leading up to it: Had driven several miles just fine prior to going up a steep & rough incline (during a SAR mission of course), lost power, lurched a bit, engine stopped. At the exact same time, I smelled the distinct odor of burnt...

Glad this proved useful. I had to put a 4" strap on the front axle and hook it to the rear tow hooks to pull it back, once it shifted back it was pretty easy.

I got a Novita EP34 from AutoZone today ($12.99). Worked perfectly, back to the original blink rate. Just make sure you pay attention to E/B/L orientation and install the jumper so it's plugged in exactly the same as before. Minor trimming on the new relay and a little electrical tape to hold it...

Last weekend I did the cheapo Center Diff Lock Switch project. Got a free hazard switch out of a late 80s/early 90s 4Runner. Took about 10 minutes of work with the exacto knife, and it was plug-n-play. Works great! Also did the Pin 7 mod at the same time. Now I just need to find a suitable...
