i've had luck using a torch to get out broken taps. it will heat the tap but not the shaft around it, and you can carefully blow it out of the hole.

is your shaft an original one for that trans? my trans was 2wd and I bought a new 4x4 shaft to put in it. must have just been case hardened as it tapped easily.

I had the top off the trans so I could lock it in two gears at once, other than that the shaft was in the trans and I did it by hand.

i just bought a tap and went for it. didn't have any issues once I drilled thru the hardness at the beginning.

got a machinist nearby? they can make you one. will this work...

I drilled my own shaft using a masonry bit, to get thru the initial shaft hardening, then a standard bit. tapped it 9/16 and was done. be awhile since I did it but wasn't too difficult.

I know it will work, thats how my buddy had his setup. but he sold it and I don't remember how it was hooked together. guess I"ll get a custom hose made.

what is everyone using for the clutch slave hose on a 465/v8 swap? I have the factory chevy hydro bellhousing and am planning on using the chevy slave and toyota master. Is there an easy solution or do I need to have a custom adapter hose made?
