The Car Care Nut replaces a sunroof in an instructional video and yikes!

I have had too many vehicles with sunroofs (starting with a 1961 Peugeot 403 wagon). I never wanted a sunroof, and (almost) never have wanted to drive with them. Last time I used mine was in Yellowstone while waiting for a group of bison to mosey off the road - then it didn't want to close...

What have you done to your 100 Series this week?

replaced rear 3 brake lines - the middle one I had trouble getting off, so cut it and used an impact wrench to pop it off. In cutting these old lines, 25years old, it was not easy! These are tough. Used Toyota parts as any saintly LC owner with a clear conscience and excellent grooming...

smack the rusted parts with a ball peen hammer. If hunks fall off - not good. If it pings like a submarine sonar - good sailing!

100 Series Button Repair How-To - A/C, Defrost, Recirc etc

Finally did the button top replacement. SeattleLC 's post (#95) was very helpful. I found that watching his video over and over while I poked the little rascals was indispensable. I found it best to exactly copy his movements. That said, I wish I was more comfortable soldering.

105 1999 Landcruiser turns over but no spark.

I see you have not received any replies - and I apologize for not being more knowledgeable, but what stops me short is your line that the previous owner soldered in direct power to the coils - that is unsettling! I would probably start by undoing this work and return to a stock wiring- then...

What have you done to your 100 Series this week?

Fixed my rattling hubcaps with little squares of foam. It only took one per hubcap. I chose the tab with the most worn out bumps for each cap. Pictures are in reverse order. ( Look from bottom up.)

What have you done to your 100 Series this week?

Made a simple catalytic converter "shield" from a cheap ¹/⁸ inch steel sheet i found on ebay for $56. Cut it to 17" x 40". I drilled and tapped four 1/4 x 20 threads into the cross member (2) , and into the frame in the front (2). Made 4 wood spacers (3/4" thick). Used blue loctite...

    How-To: TechStream In 5 Minutes

worked in like 10 minutes - hey, I just turned older, and I do things a bit slower. Changing the bios in my old laptop running windows 10 was needed (previous entry above.) Then needed to look at some youtubes to see how to use the software - I just want to clear air out of the ABS system on...

    ARCHIVE DIY Cat Skid Plate

While thinner materials might not be good for flying rock protection - In my limited experience, thin steel plate does not like to be cut by reciprocating saw blades. The plate often just shakes back and forth with the saw blade - which I think would irritate thieves. Aluminum is much...

    ARCHIVE DIY Cat Skid Plate

I like your idea, do it! Drilling the holes will not weaken anything, I'd use security head bolts as Flintknapper suggested in a previous thread. Keeping the sides open would help with heat, as well as be easier to make.
