Building a four door out of the original single cabin LWB FZJ-79. Painstakingly slow progress, but getting there!

That's basically what we're going to do. With a difference. Hopefully, creating something that looks much more "sorted out".

More than the proportions, I have a bit of a problem with the rear lines. Notably, the stuff I've outlined in the picture below. The rear door pillar, for example...broad at the top and narrow, lower down. If the door was to remain unchanged from the station wagon version, why not make a tapered...

Those are some cool conversions in the link you shared. Thanks. No disrespect intended to those who own the post-2012 OEM dual cabs, but I'm not at all fond of the tub-tray arrangement on these trucks by Toyota. They look like some designer conceived them on Photoshop, and ordered them...

Good luck, mate. I've just started a four door conversion of a 2003 FZJ-79. Was hoping against hope to find some pictures/ideas. Seems like we're going to have to wing it, without a guide map, or parachute! :bang:
