Builds BluezClues Build '79 RN37 Pickup

Im glad it's working out for you. My set up with the 4 wheel disk brakes stops better than our fancy disco 2 with all the ABS nonsense. Really fun rigs to daily!

    Water in gas tank

The 91% rubbing alcohol (cheap from Walmart) will also get water out of your tank. However, it won't stop that leak from going boom if she should find a heat source. Flash point being somewhere around negative 43 degrees.

    89-94 Pickup Console Cup Holder

I've never gotten my hands on a decent shaped center console. This was my solution for my 1st Gen 4 runner. Could apply to 2nd Shifter from a 90s model taco. Moved my switches to the dash above radio. Ammo can that locks (soft top). I suck at sewing but the pad is plywood with some foam and...

    How to install A/C in a 1st Gen Pickup/4Runner

It's right at 40 bucks in ice 2025. That's enough for about 2 coolers.

    Opinions Wanted -- Rusty 4runner

Someone from Pittsburgh would call that surface rust. If the frame is good cut it out, weld in new metal. Spray bedline the skirt of the cab as rust is likely to pop up in other areas. It also helps cover imperfections on less than perfect body work. Be prepared to cut out nearly twice as...

    How to install A/C in a 1st Gen Pickup/4Runner

Add boost to your AC when temperatures get to 100°. Settings on recirculate by level Max AC. It's colder than it's ever been.

Early toyotas with late model OEM wheels

If you can use 17s the tire selection seems to be much better, from my suppliers anyway.

    How to install A/C in a 1st Gen Pickup/4Runner

For my backing I used lawn equipment pre filters. The old twin 600cc hondas gc620 iirc (flat panel panel, not Donaldson af style)had huge ones but for smaller parts I used whatever fit. Cleaned all the old foam off with a wire wheel grinder, sanded/cleaned then installed with outdoor rated...

    Lower SAS 4runner - Front

While I'm not s.a.s. I found my ome rear leafs took forever to get right, eventually having removed two leafs from each pack. Based on my time with fj60s and 40s I felt the rear springs would eventually settle and drop and inch or two. Over two years as a daily driver with full size 10 ply...

How much would you pay? Is this rust bad?

Are you willing to drive north between Atlanta and Charlotte? If so 8-10k will get you much more than that.

Ever had a clutch fork rub the pressure plate?

Introducing, test fit transmission. Can be picked up with one hand. While I have a transmission jack, the asphalt ground paired with a slight slope usually leads to staining, cussing, drinking and sometimes even throwing of objects while trying to wrestle the r150 in place. Now I can mix and...

Ever had a clutch fork rub the pressure plate?

South bend is the only 240mm single mass clutch kit I've found to last in my 5 speed converted TDI Passat. At this point I don't want to buy another 500 dollar clutch kit, im currently sitting on two of them

Ever had a clutch fork rub the pressure plate?

Got an email back from TD conversions regarding the differences between the 3.4 dedicated and 3.0 dedicated TD adapter kits. They are identical other than hardware, which I suspected but definitely something good to know before throwing more at it. The test run today went about as expected...

Ever had a clutch fork rub the pressure plate?

I removed the weights. The weights are there to help provide extra clamping pressure at high rpms. My engine isn't going to be reving past about 3000-3500 rpms so no need to have extra moving parts in the mix that might fail. The very outer edge of the pressure plate is what was hitting. As...

Ever had a clutch fork rub the pressure plate?

I've heard this "cutting step" mentioned a few times. .020" or .025". I was under the impression marlin did this for more clamping power, more even clutch wear and I believe it also less pedal pressure as a byproduct of the mod. Good for those who battle traffic daily. Or was was this done...
