    Thanks for the memories

Well I sold the cruiser Monday. Kris from Bend Oregon flew into Boise and took her home. Enjoy buddy. THanks to everyone for all your help and advice i sure enjoyed the cruiser while I had it. I'll be on the Rubicon with my Scout the 15th/17th if anyone is out and about. Thanks again...

should 91 or 92 80 series even be considered

Yea I bought a trailblazer for the wife to drive. Seats eight cruises at 75mph and gets 19mpg. Definatly not the wheeler the 80 is but works better for all around use for us as we tow alot and do alot of freeway driving. I also have my scout that is trail built with 39.5 iroks, lockers, full...

should 91 or 92 80 series even be considered

I have a 1991 with 165k that runs like a top for 2300 bucks. Its missing the flares and has a couple dents but has the sunroof, air, 33" bfg ATs but it has new exhaust, o2 sensors and makes a great driver/wheeler.

    Road report 340 mile trip

Yea I compensated for the tires on the speed report. Speedo read 67 when I was going 72. I got it up to 70 on the speedo a couple of times but it couldn't really hold that speed. I hope 31's make some difference. I like driving it now that the ac is working. It needs some love paint and...

    Road report 340 mile trip

Yea it locks. I can feel it after it shifts into overdrive. I used to think I had a five speed auto. I kinda wish it didn't lock up as I lose the RPMs I need when I hit high gear. I'm buying some new tires this week for it. I'll use my GPS to compare the speedo and then do some math so I...

    Road report 340 mile trip

I forgot to post I'm running 33x10.5x15 BFG AT KO's. I towed my DJ trailer to 30 miles with it today. I didn't use OD but it pulled ok. Never dipped below 55 and ran well at 65. THe 3FE is pretty gutless but reliable. I'm buying the wife a minivan so I can work this thing over. I'm...

    I'm back with updates

Maybye you've ignored all my previous posts. I've used these kits for years and never had a failure. I still know where 8 of the 12 cars I've used it on are and they've never had a compressor failure. You are proposing tearing down the entire system/ installing all new seals and reassembling...

    I'm back with updates

Don't let him fool it. It works and great. Just add straight 134 a until your compressor kicks on and see if it operates ok. Drive it for a couple weeks and see if it holds the 134. If it does add until its full. That way you don't waste 134 and you can see if the system checks out. I...

    Road report 340 mile trip

Took the boys to a waterpark today. My first chance to roadtrip the cruiser with the finally installed o2 sensors and the ac working. Ran fine. Frustrating how gutless but better with the o2 sensors. It was 105 during the trip on a somewhat hilly interstate. Ran between 68 and 75 almost the...

    I'm back with updates

Bro all I can tell you is that it works. Like I've said I've done this on a dozen different vehicles over the last 13 years and never had a compressor fail. I've had a couple lose some coolant over the winter but thats the worst of it. You may be pissed that is doesn't take a phd to fix this...

    I'm back with updates

Its cold as ice and no problems. My father in law is running a suburban we used the same kit on four years ago and its still running cold on the same charge. My cruiser sat idol for a couple years and it did leak down. Ac in my experience seals pretty dependably on vehicles that have normal...

    I'm back with updates

Well I still have the cruiser and finally installed the o2 sensors and they work great. Check engine light went off after running 1 minute after installation. Haven't checked the mpg the performance is better. Even my wife noticed. Tonight I bought the 45 dollar r134 conversion kit from...

    Keeping the cruiser

Yea I've been looking. I'll be towing a 25ft camp trailer so I'm looking at a Yukon XL with the 6.0 325hp 365ftlb tq. Has the quad seating so its easy to access the back seat. Thats what i don't like about the cruiser is the boys having to crawl over the middle seat to get into the back as...

    Keeping the cruiser

I've had a few offers on my cruiser but my wife has been gone for few days and I"ve been driving it and forgot how much I missed it. So I will be getting something newer like newer Yukon Denali XL for the family duties and towing the trailers and I'll keep the cruiser as my hunting/camping rig...

    Thanks for everything fellas

Yea I've been weighing all the options. It has been great but it really isn't a road trip family rig either. Its tough to pick up and head to Boise, Salt Lake or Vegas at 60 MPH with a full load of kids and stuff and get 10 to 13 mpg. When I can buy a minivan drive 75 and get 20MPG. Neither...
